A vertical rear door for a single-face station which has a pressurized volume and which station is used to produce corrugated cardboard. The door consists of a panel with an outer dimension slightly smaller than the inner dimensions of the door frame in which it is received. The whole periphery of the panel of the door is provided with peripheral seals resting on the inner periphery of the framework. An interlocking arrangement includes at least a hook mounted to extend in a vertical plane from the inner surface of the panel of the door and liftable so that it can move in a vertical plane by means of a lifting arrangement. The hook engages an interlocking axle which is mounted permanently on the door frame and the front part of the inner notch of the hook has a forward curvature to surround a substantial portion of the axle when the hook is engaged thereon. The hook also has a front cam surface which will cause lifting of the hook to allow it to ride up over the axle until the inner notch is received on the axle during closing of the door.

A device for adjusting the distance between a web leading roll, such as a corrugating roll, and a glue applying roll in a glue unit comprises a shaft arranged to extend across the frame of the machine parallel to the glue applying roll with the gluing unit for the glue applying roll engaging the shaft, an arrangement for lifting the gluing unit to rotate around the shaft so that the glue applying roll will be positioned closer to the web leading roll and the device includes at least one cam mounted in the frame to engage a stop on the subframe of the glue unit to limit the amount of movement in elevation of the gluing unit.

A single-face station for a machine that produces corrugated cardboard comprises a frame which includes a stand with two lateral wall members, a lower cassette which carries a lower pressure roll being positioned on support and resting surfaces formed in the lateral walls, an upper cassette having a pair of corrugating rolls resting on the lower cassette and on guide surfaces in each of the side walls. The resting surface and support surface extend at right angles to each other and obliquely to a horizontal plane and the arrangement includes a holding arrangement to exert a downward force on anchoring points provided in a lower rear portion of the upper cassette in order to hold the upper cassette and lower cassette on their respective resting, supporting and guiding surfaces. In addition, there is an extracting arrangement for allowing the upper cassette to be withdrawn laterally from the frame.

A sealing device, which is situated between a rotary cylinder and the opposite edge of a wall of a pressure case, is used in a rotary machine and comprises a seal fitted over its whole length along an edge of a wall, which is parallel to the axis of rotation of the cylinder, and the wall is shifted toward the cylinder by a pressing arrangement so as to enable the seal to be applied against the cylinder. Specifically, the seal has the shape of at least one lengthwise brush with the bristles, which consist of a relatively flexible and heat-resistant material, which is preferably a synthetic material.

A one-sided corrugated cardboard machine comprising a machine stand, an upper and a lower fluted roller as well as a pressure roller cooperating with the lower fluted roller and pivotally supported on lever arms at the machine stand, adjustable abutment surfaces at the machine stand associated with the lever arms, and an adjusting mechanism supported at the machine stand and cooperating with the lever arms which to adjust the pressure roller nip urge the lever arms against the abutments, with the abutment surface arranged to face the pressure roller nip and limiting the movement of the lever arms away from the pressure roller nip.

One-sided corrugated cardboard machine

A one-sided corrugated cardboard machine having an upper and a lower fluted roller, a pressure roller associated with the lower fluted roller, a suction box essentially extending the width of the lower fluted roller and connected to a vacuum source while being arranged on the side of the lower fluted roller which is not covered by the corrugated material web, said suction box creating a vacuum in annular suction grooves of the lower fluted roller, and sealing sheet metal members engaging within the suction grooves on the side of the suction box facing the pressure roller, with a supporting beam for the sealing sheet metal members retained in the machine stand which is arranged separately of the suction box, said suction box being adapted to be adjusted through a greater distance with the aid of an adjusting device.
