An elevator system has a central control unit for generating control signals and/or processing sensor signals and controlling functions of the system, a plurality of field devices distributed inside a structure accommodating the system, preferably along an elevator shaft, and a field bus system for interchanging the signals between the control unit and the field devices. Each field device outputs sensor signals generated by a sensor and/or receives control signals to be implemented by an actuator. Data packets including the signals are interchanged in a serial manner between the control unit and all field devices in a summation frame method using a closed ring topology. Each field device has a driver to insert the sensor signals into the data packet or to remove the control signals from the data packet. Data and signal transmission is thereby carried out quickly and safely in a safety circuit of the elevator system.

Elevator system having a central control unit and a plurality of field devices which communicate via a summation frame method

An elevator system drive unit moves an elevator car in an elevator shaft to at least two shaft access doors under control of a control unit. The car does not move or moves only to a limited extent if an individual is in the shaft. A monitoring unit and sensor (switching contact) detect changes in state in at least one of the doors using a sequence of pulses monitoring signal. The monitoring unit has a battery and can be switched to an autonomous mode when the elevator system is entirely or partially disabled. The monitoring unit, in the autonomous mode, records state data from the sensor and is connected to a safeguard unit that reads and evaluates the recorded state data, and prevents the elevator system from being put into the normal mode of operation if a change in the state of one of the monitored doors has been detected.

Method and apparatus for controlling an elevator system

An elevator system includes a control unit, a bus, a plurality of bus-nodes connected via the bus with the control unit, and a plurality of safety-state detection devices connected with the control unit via the bus-nodes. A method of commissioning the elevator system includes the steps: A) verification by the control unit of the safety-state detection means that are connected to the bus; B) checking of the functional capability of the safety-state detection means that are connected; C) checking by the control unit of the safety functions of the elevator system based on a change in state of a safety-state detection means; and D) release of the elevator system for a normal operation only after positive execution by the control unit of the steps A) to C), wherein the release is accompanied by a change in state of the control unit from an unsecured state into a secured state.

Method and control unit for checking elevator system safety functions

A method for operating a safety system having a control unit, a bus, a plurality of bus nodes connected to the control unit via the bus, and a plurality of participants connected to the control unit via the bus nodes, wherein at least one participant is designated as a temporary participant. The method includes the step of logging the temporary participant out of the safety system by giving notice of a disconnection of the temporary participant from the safety system by a manipulation and disconnecting the temporary participant from the safety system. The safety system can be used with an elevator system for carrying out the method.

Method for operating an electronic safety system with temporary participants

A method for operating a safety system having a control unit, a bus, a plurality of bus nodes connected to the control unit via the bus and a plurality of participants connected to the control unit via the bus nodes, wherein at least one participant is designed as a temporary participant. The method involves the steps that the temporary participant is notified in the safety system by the temporary participant being connected at a bus node to the safety system via the bus, the temporary participants is recognized by the control unit, the temporary participant is integrated into the safety system by the control unit and the temporary participant is activated at least once. A further aspect of the invention relates to a safety system for an elevator system for carrying out the method and to an elevator system having the safety system.

A method for commissioning an elevator system, the system having a control unit, a bus, and a plurality of bus nodes, which nodes are connected with the control unit through the bus, wherein the method includes the following steps: for each bus node, node-specific data are registered by the control unit; for each bus node, the registered node-specific data are compared with a participant list; and for each deviation between the participant list and the registered node-specific data, a message is issued for an operator.

Method and device for commissioning an elevator system

A method for operating a safety system including a control unit, a bus, a plurality of bus nodes connected to the control unit via the bus, and a plurality of participants connected to the control unit via the bus nodes, wherein at least one participant is designed as a temporary participant. The method includes the step of enabling the safety system for operation by the control unit when either a first temporary participant or a second temporary participant is connected to the bus. An elevator system can be provided with a safety system for carrying out the method.

Method for operating an elevator safety system with temporary participants

A test method is applied to an elevator system having a control unit and at least one bus node. The bus node has a first microprocessor and a second microprocessor and the control unit and the bus node communicate by a bus. Furthermore, the first microprocessor and the second microprocessor are connected without interruption by a signal line. The test method includes the steps: a specification signal is transmitted by the control unit to the first microprocessor, the first microprocessor transmits the signal to the second microprocessor, and the second microprocessor provides the signal for the control unit. Finally, the control unit verifies whether the provided signal corresponds to a signal expected by the control unit. The elevator system includes a monitoring device for carrying out the test method.

Method and monitoring device for testing an elevator system

A method of checking the functional capability of at least one safety element of a safety circuit of an elevator installation utilizes a first processing unit and a second processing unit for the at least one safety element. The at least one safety element is connected with a control unit by a communications network. At least one signal is provided by the first processing unit on the basis of at least one communication from the control unit. The at least one provided signal is detected by the second processing unit connected with the first processing unit and is communicated to the control unit by way of the communications network. The at least one communicated signal is checked for the validity thereof by the control unit.

Functional monitoring of a safety element

An elevator system has at least two elevator cars, each of which has at least one elevator car door and each of which is provided for independent displacement in a common shaft, and a plurality of shaft doors and a safety device having at least one door opening sensor, at least one evaluation unit and at least one data line between the door opening sensor and the evaluation unit. The evaluation unit evaluates at least one signal of the door opening sensor in at least one evaluation step to prevent unauthorized opening of the shaft door.

An elevator has a control unit, a bus, a first microprocessor and at least a second microprocessor, which microprocessors are associated with a bus junction and which are connected by the bus with the control unit. The control unit communicates an instruction by the bus to the second microprocessor to interrupt a signal transmission to the first microprocessor so that the first microprocessor transmits a status message to the control unit.

Elevator with a monitoring system

A device pivotally connects two stabilizing parts to a bone. The device comprises at least one bone fixing element with a central axis, an anchor part designed to be fixed in or onto the bone, and a head part that can be attached to both stabilizing parts. The two stabilizing parts are located axially one below the other. Each stabilizing part has a cavity there through running coaxially to the central axis. A clamping element, which can be elastically deformed transversely to the central axis, is rotatably mounted in each cavity. The clamping element has a central bore running coaxially to the central axis for receiving the head part. The device comprises at least one wedge or cone that can be axially clamped in the central bores, enabling the head part of the bone fixing element to be removably fixed in at least one of the stabilizing parts.

A device for fixation of vertebral bodies including a longitudinal support with a central axis and two or more anchoring elements. Each anchoring element having a longitudinal axis, a front end, and a back end. The longitudinal axis of each anchoring element may be arranged at an angle of between 65 degrees and 115 degrees relative to the central axis of the longitudinal support, while the anchoring elements are designed to abut the back end. The anchoring elements may be shaped in the form of a blade toward the front end.

Fixation device for bones

The invention relates to a bone fixation device which includes a pair of bone plates and a longitudinal carrier. The longitudinal carrier can be used to permit the bone plates to telescope with respect to one another, such as in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vertebral column. A joint also may be used to permit swivelling of the plates with respect to each other.
