The invention relates to filtration system (), comprising a tank () filled at least partly with water to be filtered, and at least one filtration module (), the at least one filtration module () comprising at least one filter membrane () for filtering the water comprising a substrate () which is penetrated by at least one capillary (), and at least one filtrate pipe () for drawing filtered water out of the tank (), whereat the at least one filtration module () is arranged in the tank () such that the at least one filter membrane () is submerged at least partly in the water to be filtered. The at least one filtration module () is designed and arranged such that water to be filtered flows into the at least one capillary () and from the at least one capillary () through the substrate () into the filtrate pipe (). The invention also relates to a method for filtering water by means of a filtration system () according to the invention, whereat the water to be filtered is drawn into the at least one capillary () and from the at least one capillary () through the substrate () into the filtrate pipe () and from the filtrate pipe () out of the tank ().

Filtration system and method for filtering water

The present invention is related to a method for fabricating multilayer singlebore membranes () or multilayer multibore membranes () for ultrafiltration applications including the following method steps: (a) feeding at least a material of a substrate (), at least one material of a functional layer () and a bore fluid () to a spinneret () simultaneously; (b) forming said membranes () as a tube-like string () in a one-step process in said spinneret (); (c) thereby assigning a functionality to said functional layer () applied on at least one surface () of said substrate (). The invention is also related to a spinneret () for fabricating multilayer singlebore membranes () or multilayer multibore membranes (), using the inventive method, and to a system comprising such a spinneret ().

Method, spinneret and system for fabricating multilayer membranes

A process for removing metal ions from aqueous systems is disclosed comprising the treatment of the aqueous system with a membrane M, wherein the membrane M has a molecular weight cut-off above 3,000 Da and comprises A.) a carrier membrane CM, wherein said carrier membrane CM has a porous structure wherein the average pore diameter on one surface is smaller than in the rest of the membrane, thus forming rejection layers R on one side of carrier membrane CM, and B.) an active layer A comprising at least one polymer P comprising a plurality of functional groups G capable of forming stable complexes with metal ions selected from Ca, Mg, Al, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Sb, Co, Cr, Cd, Hg and/or Ag, wherein said active layer A is located on the surfaces of the rejection layers R of carrier membrane CM and throughout the porous structure of carrier membrane CM.

Process for making membranes

Polyethers (A), whose main chain essentially consists of repeating units of the formulae (1) and (2) in alternating order, are useful as an additive to a porous polymer membrane, or as the main polymer constituent of a porous polymer membrane, for stabilizing said membrane against detrimental effects of oxidizing agents and/or for improving the stability of a filtration module comprising said membrane against detrimental effects of oxidizing agents.
