A method is provided for processing a predetermined computing task by a distributed, vehicle-based computing system. By a server device, the computing task is divided into several data packets with respective computing data for a respective part of the computing task. The method includes that at least one motor vehicle is determined, which currently is in a predetermined ready state, and, in case it is in the predetermined ready state, the server device transmits to the motor vehicle at least one of the data packets and the motor vehicle processes the respective computing data of the at least one transmitted data packet. The vehicle generates a respective computing result related to the data packet and transmits this computing result to the server device.

A method is provided for reducing the energy consumption of a motor vehicle having at least one electric on-board power supply system to which at least one electric consuming device is connected. A method for reducing energy consumption of a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine and a vehicle electric system, to which at least a first electric consumer is connected. A method is provided for reducing the energy consumption of a motor vehicle having at least one vehicle electric system, to which at least a first electric consumer is connected. In order to achieve an efficient vehicle electric system, which, in addition, contributes to a reduced energy consumption of a motor vehicle, in a first operating mode of the motor vehicle, the level of the electric load on the vehicle electric system without at least the first consumer is at a first level. The invention relates to a method for reducing the energy consumption of a motor vehicle having an internal-combustion engine and having at least one electric onboard power supply to which at least a first electric consuming device is connected. In a first operating condition, the internal-combustion engine is operated with a first injection quantity and a first ignition point. In a second operating condition, the internal-combustion engine is operated with a second injection quantity higher than the first injection quantity and a second ignition point. The second ignition point in time is less favorable than the first ignition point in the case of the second injection quantity with respect to the capacity of the internal-combustion engine. Upon detecting a substantially imminent special driving situation, a driving situation detection device causes the internal-combustion engine to change from the first operating condition into the second operating condition.

Process and onboard power supply of a motor vehicle with an anticipating temporary torque derivation of the internal-combustion engine

A method provides traffic condition data in the context of a traffic condition recognition by a motor vehicle, in particular traffic condition data for detecting the position of traffic, preferably for detecting traffic jams. In a first step the type of road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined by use of a position recognition device and a digital road map. In a second step, the category of road along which the vehicle is traveling is determined by use of the position recognition device and the digital road map. A third step utilizes assignments, in particular a table, which assigns at least one lower speed threshold, one upper speed threshold and preferably also a normal speed to both the relevant road type and the relevant road category of the road along which the vehicle is traveling. Finally, in a fourth step, at least the lower speed threshold and the upper speed threshold are used to determine the traffic condition.

A method for providing traffic status information as part of a traffic status detection by a motor vehicle, in particular traffic information for detecting traffic jams is provided. To provide high-quality traffic status information at an acceptable cost, it is proposed that a first step should verify whether the vehicle is currently participating in public road traffic. A second step verifies whether the vehicle has been operated otherwise for more than a predetermined period of time, and optionally in a third step the traffic status detection is interrupted.

Verifying the validity of traffic status information
