An adapter element for receiving an HF surgical handpiece is proposed. The adapter element is characterized in that it is possible by receiving the handpiece in the adapter element to form a smoke duct in said adapter element for discharging smoke from a treatment area, at least one stick-, point-, ring-, sphere- or loop-shaped electrode or combinations of the same being attached on the distal end of the adapter element.

A high-frequency surgical device having a high-frequency generator, which produces a high-frequency output signal for treating, in particular for cutting or coagulating, biological tissue, the high-frequency generator being designed in such a way that the output signal of the high-frequency generator has a predetermined fundamental frequency and a modulation apparatus being provided, which is used to modulate the output signal with a modulation frequency, the modulation frequency being smaller than the fundamental frequency. The high-frequency surgical device is characterized in that the modulation frequency is at least 100 kHz, and in that the output signal can be modulated in such a way that a crest factor of the modulated output signal suitable for a specific application of the high-frequency surgical device arises.

High-frequency surgical device

In surgery using monopolar HF, there is a constant risk of patients suffering burns at the neutral electrode. Said problem stems from the fact that numerous methods have been devised by which relatively high HF currents are applied for extended periods of time. The present invention solves said problem by providing a neutral electrode, device that is to be used for applying an HF current to a biological tissue. Said improved neutral electrode device comprises at least one latent heat accumulator for absorbing heat. Thus heat peaks can be at least temporarily accumulated until the accumulated thermal energy can be safely released.

The method disclosed herein permits the operator of an electrosurgical device to move a safety switch-off threshold for a contact resistance at a neutral electrode from a first value to a second and slightly higher value. This way, for patients with a relatively high resistance yielding a somewhat elevated contact resistance despite correct attachment of the neutral electrode, uninterrupted operation of the device is achievable.

Method for the control of a medical device as a function of neutral electrode impedance

An HF surgical device comprising an HF surgical generator, at least one surgical instrument having an active electrode and a neutral electrode, which are connectable to the HF generator. The surgical instrument is connectable to the HF generator via a first wire and the neutral electrode is connectable to the HF generator via second wire. The first and/or second wire is/are equipped with a shield and a decoupling capacitor is disposed at a distal end of each shielded wire.

HF surgical device

A fluid applicator is fed by a fluid delivery arrangement containing an energy storage such as a pressure vessel. The gas pressure acts on a container that has been prefilled with the ejection fluid. The fluid to be ejected is thus subject to constant pressure. With a valve, the user can initiate the ejection of the desired amount of fluid with constant intensity. The check valve may also be a regulating valve which can be used by the user to vary the intensity of the effect. The user need only release the system, e.g., by puncturing the pressure vessel, to then be able to directly inject the fluid in a defined or metered manner via the probe, i.e., the fluid applicator. It is also possible to configure the entire injection device as a single-use system and to prefill the fluid applicator up to its fluid exit opening.

A push button of a medical manipulating part comprising: a first, pot-shaped, shell-shaped or box-shaped housing piece, at least some sections of which contain conductive material, with an integrally molded switching spring and a continuous wall, a second housing piece, the shape of which mates with the wall of the first housing piece and is inserted therein in a hermetically sealed manner such that a hollow space is formed between the first and second housing pieces underneath the switching spring and at least one mating contact for the switching spring, said mating contact being hermetically sealed and electrically isolated relative to the first housing piece, being led through the second housing piece and extending into the hollow space underneath the switching spring.

A probe manipulator which has a grip device that can be held by a user in order to facilitate manipulation of a probe when the latter has been inserted into a channel of an endoscope. Connection devices are provided for releasably connecting the grip device to the probe in such a way that the probe may be rotated or displaced by rotation or displacement of the grip device. The connection device is connectable such that the probe need not be fed through the grip device, but that the grip device may be placed at any point along the length of the probe.

Probe manipulator

An appliance for water-jet surgery is provided that includes a plurality of supply cylinder and piston arrangements in each of which is stored a working fluid that can be expelled, by means of the piston, through an outlet into a pressure conduit. At least one actuation device is provided to actuate the piston of each supply cylinder. By means of a change-over device to change the actuation from the piston of one supply cylinder to the piston of another supply cylinder, it is ensured that the working fluid can be expelled into the pressure conduit from consecutively emptying supply cylinders. As a result, an apparatus with a small structure that is achieved by simple means is disclosed.

Appliance for water-jet surgery

An adapter is provided for a power connection element between a handle and an electrosurgical instrument to be attached to it. This provides an adapter that makes it possible to reduce organizational effort and costs in the production of electrosurgical instruments with monopolar electrodes. To this end, the adapter includes an insulating portion for adapting an insulating section of the power connection element and an electrically conductive portion for adapting at least one electrically conductive section of the power connection element. The insulating portion and the electrically conductive portion are configured in such a way that the insulating section and the electrically conductive section have their dimensions increased.

Adapter device

A device for the treatment of human or animal tissue by means of a movable instrument is disclosed. The device comprises means for generating a magnetic stator field, in which the tissue is located. For example, the means for generating the magnetic stator field may be a magnetic resonance tomograph (MRT). At least one conductor loop is provided on or in the instrument, and a generator is provided for generating a current that flows through the conductor loop in order to generate a magnetic useful field, which, in conjunction with the stator field, generates a resulting action for applying a useful force to the instrument.

Device for treatment of human or animal tissue by means of a magnetically movable instrument

A connection cable which allows various high-frequency surgical instruments to be used with various high-frequency surgical devices. The connection cable includes a first connecting means designed for connection to a socket of the high-frequency surgical device and a second connecting means designed for connection to the high-frequency surgical instrument. A programmable memory is provided which is connected to contacts of the first connecting means and controls adjustment of the high-frequency surgical device. The adjustment of the high-frequency surgical instrument is controlled in accordance with stored data sets in order to adapt device settings to the particular high-frequency surgical instrument.

Connection cable

For water-jet surgery pump devices are known by means of which a sterile fluid is transported through a reservoir to the surgical instrument by means of piston pumps or similar volumetrically transporting pumps. In accordance with the present invention it is proposed either to construct drive means for the pumps in such a way that their suction cycle is shorter than the output cycle, or to provide a pump with at least three pump chambers and to construct the drive means in such a way that the suction and output cycles of the pump chambers overlap one another.

Transport device for sterile media

The invention relates to a medical pump, especially for water jet surgery, in which a pump unit is assembled as a single use article and can be reversibly connected to a pump actuating device. Within the pump, the pump actuating device is also used to open up the connection between the pump unit and the pump actuating device.

Medical pump

The invention relates to a connecting device for an electrosurgical instrument, which comprises at least one gas supply line and one power supply line. Said connecting device comprises a housing into which passes the gas supply line including the power supply line disposed therein. The connecting device is also provided with a branching device that is located in the housing, and by way of which the power supply line is diverted out of the gas supply line in order to form a gas-connection end piece and a power-connection end piece, and with a plug fixed to the housing in order to make connection to a socket in an appliance or to connecting leads running to the appliance. The gas-connection end piece and the power-connection end piece are coupled to the plug and a filter is disposed within the housing in the gas-connection end piece.
