An arrangement for OCT-based laser treatment of vitreous floaters. The arrangement for OCT-based laser vitreolysis includes an OCT system, a laser system having a deflection unit, optical elements that couple the OCT system and the laser system, a display unit and a central control and operating unit. The OCT system is configured to localize the floaters, the laser system is configured to destroy the floaters by application of laser pulses and the central control and operating unit is configured to determine apart from the coordinates of the localized floaters also their distance to structures of the eye, to derive exclusion criteria for the treatment, to align the deflection unit of the laser system to these coordinates and to focus and activate the laser system. The present invention relates to an arrangement for the gentle, low risk and painless laser treatment of vitreous floaters, which enables partially or fully automated therapy.

Arrangement for the OCT-based laser vitreolysis

The proposed combination device combines any tonometric metrology with a drug application to administer glaucoma medication on an eye. Several technical concepts are proposed and exemplary embodiments for rebound tonometry and air-puff tonometry are shown. However other methods such as optical coherence elastography (OCE) could also be used. The Solutions provide home care tonometry offerings which host the capability to administer glaucoma medication.

Combination device for tonometrical measuring and drug application on an eye

The claimed embodiments relate to methods for characterizing a laser beam () of a laser processing system (). The method includes a) providing an aperture arrangement () with a plurality of apertures () in a work plane () of the laser processing system () such that the apertures () extend within the work plane (). The method also includes b) scanning the laser beam () along a scanning direction () parallel to the work plane () across the aperture arrangement () in such a way that the laser beam () at least partially sweeps over the apertures (). The method also includes c) determining a respective energy of the laser beam () transmitted through the apertures () during the scanning process, and d) determining an extent of the laser beam () along the scanning direction () using the determined energy of the laser beam () transmitted through a first aperture () of the plurality of apertures () and determining an energy parameter of the laser beam () on the basis of the determined energy of the laser beam () transmitted through a second aperture () of the plurality of apertures (). In this case, the first aperture () has a predetermined extent along the scanning direction (), which is smaller than the mean diameter of the laser beam () in the work plane (). In addition, a second aperture () has an extent that is larger than the laser beam () in the work plane () and is designed to transmit the laser beam () essentially completely.

Illumination points are arranged in three rings concentrically around an instrument axis; and the three rings include a first ring, a second ring and a third ring and the illumination points on the first ring and the third ring are rotated in relation to the illumination points on the second ring such that each of the illumination points on the first ring is on a common radial with one of the illumination points on the third ring and each of the illumination points on the second ring is not on the common radial.

Device for reliably determining biometric measurement variables of the whole eye

A planning device that generates control data for an ophthalmological laser therapy appliance with a laser device and a control unit, includes a first interface for supplying various data and a second interface for transferring the control data to the control unit of the ophthalmological laser therapy appliance, which is embodied to generate control data for a scanning pattern for the ophthalmological laser therapy appliance from the supplied data, by application of which scanning pattern a structure can be produced in the cornea, the limbus, and/or the sclera of a patient's eye. The planning device is embodied to generate from the supplied data, control data for the scanning pattern of this structure and/or a structure for receiving the shunt implant.

Planning device and method for generating control data for an ophthalmological laser therapy device for structures bridging the cornea in a pressure-reducing manner

An apparatus for influencing an intraocular pressure (IOP) of an eye with a controllable discharge device which is configured to discharge a liquid from at least one area of the eye. The apparatus includes a first sensor device which captures at least one first value that is characteristic for the IOP of the eye, and a second sensor device, which captures at least one second value that is characteristic for a pressure acting on the eye, and a control device which controls the discharge device at least at times taking account of the first characteristic value and the second characteristic value, wherein the second characteristic value is characteristic for an intracranial pressure and/or cerebrospinal pressure.

Apparatus for influencing an intraocular pressure

A device for determining biometric variables of the eye, as are incorporated in the calculation of intraocular lenses including a multi-point keratometer and an OCT arrangement. The multi-point keratometer ensures that a sufficient number of keratometer points are available for measuring the corneal surface. By contrast, telecentricity ensures that the positioning inadequacies of the measuring instrument in relation to the eye to be measured do not lead to a local mismatch of the reflection points. The swept-source OCT scan detects the whole eye over the length thereof so that both anterior chamber structures and retina structures can be detected and a consistent whole eye image can be realized.

Imaging systems are provided allowing examination of different object regions spaced apart in a depth direction by visual microscopy and by optical coherence tomography. An axial field of view and a lateral resolution is varied depending on which object region is examined by the imaging system. The proposed imaging systems are in particular applicable for thorough examination of the human eye.

Imaging system

A fundus camera with an OCT measurement module, in which, after the focusing objective, a mirror switches the light to be detected either to the OCT measurement module or an image detector. This design also renders it possible to carry out a method for improved focusing in order to improve the recording quality of the individual modalities. Furthermore, the multimodal measuring instrument distinguishes itself by an operating concept according to the invention. Such combination instruments are advantageous in that, as a result of the reduction from two instruments to one, less space is required than in the case of two separate instruments. Furthermore, reseating of the patient is avoided if recordings or measurements of different modalities should be made for one and the same patient, as a result of which the procedures in the medical practices and clinics can be influenced positively.

Flexible, multimodal retina image recording system and measurement system

For the model-based determination of the biometry of eyes, the eye is illuminated by a light source via a scanning unit, the focus of the measuring light beam in the eye is moved or shifted laterally and/or axially via an adjusting device and the light fractions back-scattered by the boundary surfaces and from the tissue of the eye via an interferometer are detected by a sensor and relayed to a control and evaluation unit by which a parametric eye model which describes at least two boundary surfaces present in the eye is adapted to the scan or scans. The invention relates to the field of ophthalmology and serves in particular for the optical determination of the biometry of eyes by application of two-dimensional optical coherence tomography images. However, the method is not limited to the use of coherence tomography nor to the utilization of optical measurements.

Method for the model-based determination of the biometry of eyes

Selection of an appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) and/or the applicable surgical parameters for optimizing the results of refractive procedures on the eye. Features of the IOL are crucial for the selection and/or adjustment of the optimal IOL, but so is the IOL selection method (and parameters) from a surgical perspective. For the method, corresponding output parameters are determined from predetermined, estimated, or measured input parameters and/or their mean values, wherein at least two input parameters are varied with one another and which have at least one input parameter as a distribution function. The resulting function is optimized by means of corresponding target values and the determined distribution function of one or more output parameters is used as a decision aid. The present solution is used for selecting an appropriate IOL and/or the applicable surgical parameters and is applicable in the field of eye surgery for implanting IOLs.
