A working machine, particularly an internal combustion engine-driven tamper for compacting soil comprises a tamping system, which is driven by the internal combustion engine and which is provided with an oil lubrication. The enclosure surrounding the tamping system comprises a small opening, which is situated downstream from an air filter and which leads into an air induction channel of the internal combustion engine. The cross-section of the opening is dimensioned so that it enables an equalization of pressure between the tamping system and the surrounding area and allows oil to travel from the tamping system and into the air induction channel of the engine. Oil for lubricating can be supplied to the engine via the opening. The opening is also suited for equalizing pressure which is particularly necessary when the tamping system and its enclosure heat up.

A tamping machine for compacting soil has a crank mechanism for producing a directed vibration. The crank mechanism is coupled to a spring assembly. The parts of the crank mechanism which move back and forth linearly are made from a material with a density less than that of steel. This construction prevents vibrations which are unpleasant for the person operating the working machine from occurring.

According to the invention, a hammer or a ramming machine for compacting soil has a crank mechanism for producing a directed vibration. The crank mechanism is coupled to a spring assembly. The parts of the crank mechanism which move back and forth linearly are made from a material with a density less than that of steel. This construction prevents vibrations which are unpleasant for the person operating the working machine from occurring.

A working tool, in particular a soil rammer or a hammer, has two masses that may be linearly moved back and forth with respect to one another, namely a top mass which comprises a driving motor and a ramming or striking working mass which can be moved by the motor relative to the top mass by means of a crank drive and a set of springs. In order to reduce as much as possible the displacement of the top mass, an additional counterweight can be moved by the motor over at least a large part of the path of displacement of the working mass in the opposite direction thereto. The displacement of the end of the set of springs linked to the crank drive and the displacement of the counterweight are preferably offset relative to one another, with respect to the crank angle, by 180&deg; minus a phase shift derived from the construction parameters of the set of springs.

Working tool, in particular rammer for soil compaction

A working device, especially a ramming device for compacting soil, comprises a housing which belongs to an upper mass, and has a working mass which can be linearly driven back and forth with regard to the upper mass. The working mass is linearly guided via a guide cylinder which is fastened to the housing with elastic mobility. The transfer of bounce impacts acting upon the working mass to the upper mass can be effectively reduced by the elastic mobility of the guide cylinder with regard to the housing.

A working device, especially a ramming device for compacting soil, or a hammer, has a crank mechanism for producing a controlled vibration. The crank mechanism is coupled with a set of springs. According to the invention, the crank disk belonging to the crank mechanism is provided with a counter-mass whose center of gravity is shifted around an angle not equal to 180&deg; from the center of gravity of a crank pin on the crank disk, in relation to the axis of rotation of the crank disk. This prevents vibrations which would be unpleasant for the person operating the device from occurring.

A working tool, in particular a soil rammer or hammer, has two masses that may be linearly moved back and forth with respect to one another, namely, a top mass which has a driving motor and a ramming or striking working mass which can be moved by the motor relative to the top mass by means of a crank drive and a set of springs. A compactor for compacting soil which can be controlled by hand using a bow-shaped control element or similar element. The compactor has a compacting or ramming working mass which is driven by a combustion engine back and forth, linearly, by a crank mechanism and a spring assembly. The compactor is also supported on the ground by a single-axle dolly.

A tamper has a housing, a transmission in the housing converting rotary movement to reciprocating movement, and a tamper plate underneath the transmission and connected thereto for tamping material over which the tamper is moved. A gasoline-fueled engine mounted on the housing supplies rotary movement to the transmission and a fuel tank mounted on the housing adjacent the engine is connected with the engine for supplying fuel thereto. A dome-shaped and downwardly concave cover fixed to the handle is positioned above the engine. The cover is made of a sound-absorbing material and includes a rigid shell having an underside provided with a layer of sound-absorbing material.

A throttle actuating device for an internal combustion engine of a soil compacting device, the internal combustion engine having a diaphragm carburetor and a connection between the fuel tank and the diaphragm carburetor, includes a control mechanism for switching the diaphragm carburetor into different operating positions including a full load position, an idle position, an intermediate position, and a turn-off position for the internal combustion engine. The intermediate position is located between the idle position and the turn-off position in the travel path of the control mechanism. The control mechanism, when being moved from the idle position toward the turn-off position, shuts off the connection 32 for interrupting fuel flow from the fuel tank to the diaphragm carburetor when passing through the intermediate position. The control mechanism, when being moved from the turn-off position toward the idle position, opens the connection to allow fuel flow from the fuel tank to the diaphragm carburetor when passing through the intermediate position.

A hand-guided impact hammer and hammer drill having a handgrip which is spring-mounted relative to the hammer housing. At the bottom, the handgrip is spring-mounted harder, with greater stability against lateral displacement relative to the hammer housing, than at the top. On the one hand, during normal operation of the hammer, an optimum vibration damping is provided, and on the other hand, even during great pressure on the handgrip, and during lateral twisting of the handgrip, no direct contact can occur between the parts of the handgrip and the parts of the housing. Furthermore, the hammer can be efficiently guided at all times, even with heavy tools.

Hand-guided impact hammer and hammer drill

A motor-driven hammer having an impact mechanism that is driven by the motor via a crank drive. The hammer has a protective cover that is provided with handgrips and is cushioned relative to the housing of the hammer. When viewed in the upright position of operation of the hammer, the cover is spaced from, and covers, the top, both sides, and the front of the motor and crank drive, at least relative to an operator. Two pairs of swing arms extend on both sides between the housing and the cover for positively guiding the cover parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hammer. The swing arms of a given pair of arms are disposed parallel to one another, and are spaced apart one above the other. Each arm has two ends, one of which is pivotably mounted on the cover, and the other of which is pivotably mounted on the housing. This pivotable mounting is effected by pivot mechanisms, at least some of which are embodied in the form of soft torsion springs. The swing arms have a pivot range that is free except for the torsion spring effect. Stops are provided for elastically delimiting the free pivot range of the arms. These stops cooperate in a cushioned manner and are disposed on the housing and on the cover. The stops have a spring force that increases progressively outwardly from the free pivot range of the swing arms.

A crank gear with adjustable crank radius for motor driven beating working implements, especially tamping implements, jack hammers, hammer drills and the like, in which the crank pin for the connecting rod is eccentrically arranged with regard to the crank shaft axis and when being adjusted moves in a circular path which is substantially parallel to its plane of circulation and is eccentric with regard to the crank shaft axis. That end of the crank shaft which faces the connecting rod is a crank disc. The crank pin is eccentrically arranged on a clamping or coupling disc which with regard to the crank shaft axis eccentrically engages that end face of the crank disc which faces toward the crank pin. The clamping disc, when in disengaging position, is rotatable from the outside of the crank gear relative to the crank disc and is adapted in a selected operative position to be arrested relative to the crank disc, by means of a tension force pressing the clamping disc against the crank disc.
