The disclosure relates to a charging apparatus for a rechargeable battery pack, having a housing, having at least one first rechargeable battery interface that is designed so as to releasably connect the charging apparatus to a first rechargeable battery pack along a first connection direction, having a second rechargeable battery interface that is designed so as to releasably connect the charging apparatus to a second rechargeable battery pack along a second connection direction, wherein the connection directions intersect the rechargeable battery pack in the state connected to the charging apparatus. It is proposed that the first connection direction and the second connection direction are arranged crossing each other.

A method for foreign object detection for an induction charging device is described, including an oscillator circuit, in particular, for a hand-held power tool, a resonance frequency and an associated actual quality of the oscillator circuit being detected and the actual quality is subsequently compared to a setpoint quality as a function of the resonance frequency and a decision is made about the presence of a foreign object based on a defined setpoint quality range. The method provides that an internal temperature of induction charging device is detected, in particular, during the wireless energy transmission, and the actual quality is multiplied by a correction factor based on the internal temperature. Also, an induction charging device is described that includes an oscillator circuit and a control and regulating unit, as well as at least one temperature sensor for carrying out the method.

A method for foreign object detection for an induction charging device is described, including an oscillator circuit, in particular, for a hand-held power tool, a resonance frequency and an associated actual quality of the oscillator circuit being detected and the actual quality is subsequently compared to a setpoint quality as a function of the resonance frequency and a decision is made about the presence of a foreign object based on a defined setpoint quality range. The method provides that an upper limit and/or a lower limit of the setpoint quality range and the profile of the actual quality are adapted to one another.
