According to an example, a multi-mode agent may include a processor interconnect (PI) interface to receive data from a processor and to selectively route the data to a node controller logic block, a central switch, or an optical interface based on one of a plurality of modes of operation of the multi-mode agent. The modes of operation may include a glueless mode where the PI interface is to route the data directly to the optical interface and bypass the node controller logic block and the central switch, a switched glueless mode where the PI interface is to route the data directly to the central switch for routing to the optical interface, and bypass the node controller logic block, and a glued mode where the PI interface is to route the data directly to the node controller logic block for routing to the central switch and further to the optical interface.

Multi-mode agent

An apparatus and method unlock a shaft () of a unit () for rotation in response to a mechanical reaction between the unit () and an enclosure () receiving the unit () when the unit () has been sufficiently inserted into the enclosure (), whereby rotation of the shaft () linearly translates a component of the unit () into connection with a component of the enclosure ().

Rotational lockout

A chassis is configured to hold at least one horizontal row of node modules and a fabric module. The fabric module can be positioned above or below the row so that it can communicatively couple two or more node modules. Each of the node modules and the fabric modules can be inserted into and removed from the chassis longitudinally.

Techniques related to remotely boundary scanning of an integrated circuit embedded in a target computing system are disclosed herein. In an example, a host computing system includes a first peripheral port and a second peripheral port. A port-to-port boundary scan assembly is to interface boundary scan data between the first and the second peripheral ports. Thereby the boundary scan data can be routed from the second peripheral bus to the target computing system via a network port at the host computing system.

A computer system has extensible firmware interface firmware. The EFI firmware loads incomplete virtual boot data from a resource manager and then completes the boot data. A computer system includes software running on a hardware platform. The hardware platform provides a platform manager having an user interface that is independent of that for a mission operating system running on said platform. The platform manager issues platform requests for power-setting adjustments. The software includes a mission operating system with a power controller incorporated in or running on the mission operating system. The power controller adjusts power settings for hardware devices at least in part as a function of the platform requests.

A server manages power and performance. The server comprises a plurality of processor and associated storage and input/output interface components, arranged into a plurality of independent compute cells. One or more performance metrics descriptive of performance of the independent compute cell plurality are selected and an optimization evaluation of the one or more performance metrics is performed. The independent compute cell plurality is tuned based on the optimization evaluation.

A method of reducing power consumption of a computing system by a predetermined amount comprises: selecting at least one memory component of the computer system for reduced power consumption based on the predetermined amount of power consumption reduction; and evacuating the selected at least one memory component to reduce the power consumption of the computing system by at least the predetermined amount.
