A vehicle-side charging circuit includes an AC-voltage interface, a rectifier connected thereto and at least one first and one second DC-to-DC converter. The DC-to-DC converters are electrically isolating, and each have at least one intermediate circuit capacitor and at least one switch unit. The charging circuit also includes an on-board electrical system connection. The rectifier is connected to the on-board electrical system connection by way of the DC-to-DC converters. The charging circuit has a switch device which connects the DC-to-DC converters so as to be switchable between one another. In a first switching state, the switching device connects the two intermediate circuit capacitors and the switching units of the DC-to-DC converters in parallel and, in a second switching state, connects the intermediate circuit capacitors and the switch units in series.

Vehicle-side charging circuit

An alternating voltage charging device for a vehicle is equipped with a rectifier, a battery terminal, and at least one first DC link capacitor, which is provided between the rectifier and the battery terminal. The charging device includes a switch device, which connects at least one second DC link capacitor to the at least one first DC link capacitor. The switch device interconnects the DC link capacitors in parallel in a first switching state and in series in a second switching state. There is also described a method to be carried out by the charging device.

Alternating voltage charging device and method for the single- or multi-phase alternating current charging of a vehicle

The method determining one or more components of a number of components which can be driven in parallel according to power requirements. A wear value of a respective component is ascertained in dependence on ambient conditions, operating states, the supply voltage, and/or the supply current. An optimal number of components to be operated in parallel is ascertained for a current power requirement and is compared with the currently operated number of components. If the number of currently operated components is greater than the optimal number, the component with the greatest wear value is deactivated. If the number of currently operated components is less than the optimal number, the component or components which can be activated in principle are ascertained and then the activatable component with the lowest wear value is activated.

An AC charging device for a motor vehicle has a neutral conductor, at least one phase conductor, and at least one rectifier. The neutral conductor and the at least one phase conductor are connected to the rectifier, to which at least one smoothing capacitor is also connected. The AC charging device has a precharge circuit arranged between a mains connection and the at least one smoothing capacitor. The precharge circuit is designed to precharge the at least one smoothing capacitor. The precharge circuit has at least one transistor.

Alternating-current charging device for a motor vehicle, and method for operating an alternating-current charging device for a motor vehicle

An AC charging device for a motor vehicle has a neutral conductor, at least one phase conductor, and at least one rectifier. The neutral conductor and the phase conductor are connected to the rectifier and the rectifier is furthermore electrically connected to at least one smoothing capacitor. The AC charging device includes a precharge circuit arranged between a mains connection of the AC charging device and the smoothing capacitor. The precharge circuit is designed to precharge the smoothing capacitor. The phase conductor, in a connection section, is connected to at least one further phase conductor of the AC charging device by way of a cross-connection line, which has a cross-connection switch for disconnecting the phase conductor and the further phase conductor. The precharge circuit is arranged between a mains connection of a first phase conductor of the phase conductors and the connection section.

Motor vehicle having an AC charging device with a precharge circuit for a smoothing capacitor

A storage-battery charging device for a motor vehicle is configured to be arranged in the motor vehicle. The storage-battery charging device includes a first stage with a power factor correction filter, and a second stage with an inverter. The first stage is electrically connected to the second stage through an intermediate node, the intermediate node being directly electrically connected to a feed-in connection point for direct voltage. The feed-in connection point is designed for direct electrical coupling to a high-voltage vehicle electrical system of the motor vehicle.

A method determines deviations between actual measured current values and setpoint current values in a number n (n&#x2265;2) of parallel-connected current-regulated circuit paths for the connection of a load with an energy source. A measurement of the total actual current value flowing from the energy source to the load is effected by a precision current measuring device with a low accuracy tolerance, and the measurement of partial currents in the circuit paths is effected by standard current measuring devices with a greater accuracy tolerance, in relation to the precision current measuring device. By an adjustment of the partial currents in the circuit paths, while maintaining a constant total current, values are obtained for a n-dimensional equation system corresponding to the number of circuit paths, the resolution of which, in the knowledge of the accurate total actual current, gives the deviations in the actual values of the partial currents.

A method for field-oriented control of a frequency converter for a three-phase motor includes the setting of a new position of the rotary field in the electric motor being performed by voltage pulses for the stator coils. An amplitude and the angle of the rotary field vector are specified by the duration of the voltage pulses for the respective coils and by their temporal offset. The duration and the offset of voltage pulses for the stator coils are the result of the calculation of manipulated variables in a digitally controlled process in a coordinate system fixed in respect of the rotor, depending on the prevailing angular rotation (theta) and the prevailing speed of rotation (omega) as well as on the prevailing current values, a predetermined torque and a predetermined speed of rotation.

An ignition device for an internal combustion engine has an ignition coil disposed as a transformer, a spark plug connected to the secondary winding of the ignition coil, an actuatable switching element connected in series with the primary winding of the ignition coil, and a control unit connected to the primary winding and to the control input of the switching element. After charging the ignition coil, building up an ignition spark through non-conductive switching of the switching element, and after renewed conductive switching of the switching element for operating the ignition coil in transformer operation, the supply voltage of the control unit is detected and if a pre-determined value, representing the presence of a surface gap, is exceeded, the switching element is once more switched non-conductive.

A method for determining the quantity of fuel flowing through a fuel injector. The fuel injector has an electric heating device for heating the fuel and a temperature-measuring device for measuring the temperature of the heated fuel. The method includes (a) applying a predetermined electrical heating power to the electric heating device, (b) measuring an increase in the temperature of the fuel as a consequence of the heating power, and (c) determining the quantity of fuel flowing through the fuel injector on the basis of the applied electrical heating power and the measured increase in the temperature. An actuator unit for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes an electrically conductive excitation winding, a ferromagnetic circuit having a ferromagnetic return, and a moveable armature. The armature is held in an idle position by a holding force of a spring element. A current flowing through the excitation winding produces (a) a magnetic holding force acting on the armature in the same direction as the spring holding force provided by the spring element, and (b) a magnetic motive force acting on the armature in the opposite direction as the magnetic holding force and spring holding force. The armature can be moved to a working position in which the armature adjoins the ferromagnetic return by increasing the current through the excitation winding above a predetermined value that results in the magnetic motive force exceeding the magnetic holding force combined with the spring holding force.

A step-up converter converts a battery voltage to an intermediate voltage. The intermediate voltage is greater than or equal to the battery voltage. A step-down converter receives the intermediate voltage supplied by the step-up converter and controls an output voltage which is less than or equal to the intermediate voltage. The step-up converter controls the intermediate voltage in an open loop depending on the battery voltage, at least if the battery voltage is lower than a first predetermined value, and at least if at the same time the load on the output of the step-up converter exceeds a minimum load.
