A method for making a vehicle tire in which a tire carcass is expanded radially on a shaping drum, wherein the sidewalls arranged on the tire carcass are turned up by inflatable shaping bladders. This involves moving two pusher bells, which are arranged to the sides of the tire carcass, in the direction of the center of the blank, wherein the pusher bells are respectively mounted on a movable first and second carriage and are respectively moved in the axial direction by a first and second drive by way of a coupling, wherein the pusher bells are pressed laterally against the shaping bladders. When disequilibrium of forces on the two sides of the shaping bladders is set, the pressing positions of the two pusher bells are balanced, the two drives being arranged on a freely mounted third carriage.

Method for making a vehicle tire

An apparatus for upturning a tire-building component on a tire-building drum has a roller lever. To provide an apparatus which is capable of upturning a tire-building component on a tire-building drum, and which achieves the upturn of the tire-building component without defects, in particular unintended creasing in the side wall, it is proposed that, during the procedure of preparation for upturning, a spacer provides separation between the roller and the segment in such a way that the roller is in essence in contact exclusively with the tire-building component. The roller therefore rolls along the tire-building component.

Device for turning up a tire-building component on a tire-building drum

A method for winding up and splicing a tire building component, comprising placing the tire building component on a winding drum having a winding drum main axis and an inclinationally-adjustable surface, which is adjustable in inclination relative to the winding drum main axis, rotating the winding drum to rotationally symmetrically wind up the tire building component, and splicing together free ends of the tire building component to form a closed ring.
