A method and arrangement for remotely controlling the communication of media between devices in different local networks () using a remote control device (). The remote control device obtains discovery information on a first device () and sends a remote access request over a multimedia service network to a home multimedia gateway () in the opposite local network () for a connection to a second device () therein. The home multimedia gateway then responds with communication parameters established for the second device in a residential gateway, and the remote control device can then order the first device to execute a multimedia session with the second device by using said communication parameters. This solution enables a remote control device visiting a local network to order a device in that network to fetch media content from a device in another home network, or vice versa.

Method and arrangement for remotely controlling multimedia communication across local networks

An information processing system providing a composed service to a user device is provided. The system includes: a service acquisition unit configured to acquire descriptions defining raw services; a capability information acquisition unit configured to acquire capability information; a composition unit configured to compose the acquired descriptions to create a description which defines a composed service to be supported by the user device based on the acquired capability information; a presentation unit configured to present the created description to the user device; a request acquisition unit configured to acquire a request for the composed service from the user device; a specifying unit configured to specify raw services composing the requested composed service; a processing unit configured to gather responses from the specified raw services composing the requested composed service, and to create the composite response; and a response unit configured to respond the composite response to the user device.

Method for software program synchronization

The present invention relates to a method for providing connectivity information, regarding a consumer electronic device that is connected to a local network, to an Internet server. The method includes a step of a mobile communication unit retrieving the connectivity information of the consumer electronic device from the local network and then transmitting the connectivity information of the consumer electronic device to the Internet Server via an access network independent from the local network.

Service delivery to a consumer electronic device using a mobile communication unit for access and service control

A mobile communications device comprising a gateway is provided. The device enables an automated discovery of a vehicle environment is enabled. Hereby context information relating to the vehicle environment can be automatically communicated to the service backend. Also context information from the service backend can be provided to the vehicle environment all utilizing SIP Presence technologies. The invention can in accordance with one embodiment be implemented in an IMS system. In accordance with one embodiment a communications device comprising gateway can be provided in the form of a mobile communications device, such as a mobile telephone. The gateway can for example be an IMS gateway.

Vehicle information communication

An information processing system for offering a remote access from a device to a virtual service provided in a local network is provided. The virtual service invokes native services provisioned by a service provider. The system comprising: a management unit managing service information specifying a shortcut component of the service; an obtaining unit obtaining a request for the virtual service from the device; a receiving unit receiving the service information from the management unit; a specification unit specifying a shortcut component for the requested virtual service based on the received service information; an invoking unit executing the specified shortcut component by invoking native services to the service provider, and transferring the other component of the requested virtual service to the local network; a combination unit combining results; and a response unit responding the combined result to the device.

Information processing system and method providing a remote access

A method and apparatus for enabling remote access to a local gateway () of a local network from a remote device () located outside the local network. Capabilities and credentials of the remote device and of the local gateway are configured independently in an IMS core () for the remote access. One or more users are also authorized for remote access to the local network by adding an IMS identity of each authorized user to an IMS based ACL (Access Control List). An access request to the local gateway from the remote device will be accepted if the IMS identity of the remote device user is present in the IMS based ACL. A remote access connection can then be established by means of the configured capabilities and credentials of the remote device and the local gateway.

Method and apparatus for remote access to a local network

The invention comprises a method and system for dynamically processing messages. After a message is received from a network or from an internal application, and the message type is identified, the invention determines whether an optimized handler should be used to process messages of the identified message type. If an optimized handler has not previously been generated for the identified message type or is otherwise not available, an optimized handler may be generated, during run-time, for subsequent processing of messages of the identified message type. In some embodiments, the invention maintains statistics relating the processing characteristics of different types of messages and these statistics are used to determine whether to generate an optimized handler or to use a generic handler to process subsequently received messages having a certain identified message type.

System and method for dynamically optimized message processing

A universal authentication mechanism for authenticating a user to a service provider (SP) is disclosed. An application device (ApD) requests a service for the user from the service provider (SP) and performs a transmission of a user identity (S) identifying the user to the service provider (SP). The service provider sends a request for confirmation of the user identity (S) to an authentication server (AS). The request comprises the user identity and a service identity identifying the requested service. The authentication server (AS) sends a request for service authentication (S) to the authentication device (AuD) for confirmation. Based on the result of an analysis (S) of a service authentication confirmation (S) received from the authentication device (AuD), the authentication server (AS) sends a confirmation of the user identity (S) confirming the identity of the user to the service provider (SP), which grants service access (S).

Universal authentication mechanism

The invention relates to method and device for improving the link configuration speed of high-latency links, such as circuit switched links or satellite links, that use chatty protocols, which require sequential configuration phases, such as standard PPP in accordance with RfC 1661. In the initial link configuration phase, a standard LCP packet is sent out, followed by at least one masked packet that will be discarded silently by a peer operating in accordance with the standard protocol, but whose contents will be processed by a peer operating in accordance with the invention. The initial standard LCP packet produces compatibility with the standard protocol, whereas the sending of masked packets containing configuration information (PAP, CHAP, ICPC, etc.) allows two peers operating in accordance with the invention to accomplish the configuration phases in parallel, such that a link can be configured and ready to transmit network level packets, such as IP packets, much more quickly than with the standard protocol, such as PPP.
