The invention relates to a motor vehicle steering shaft with two shaft sections which are telescopically guided in one another and have corresponding profile cross-sections, between which at least one row of balls is fitted in. The row of balls are each arranged in the axial direction and are used as a driver element operating in the rotating direction. According to the invention, one axial stop respectively is assigned to the first and the last ball of the ball row. The stops are positioned on opposite shaft sections and at least one of these stops being plastically deformable.

Motor vehicle steering shaft with two shaft sections

A steering column in a motor vehicle having a steering shaft which, in the event of a crash, can be displaced axially in the direction of the vehicle front by a load on the steering wheel. The steering column has a shell element around the steering shaft adjoining the steering wheel which can be divided by the displacement of the steering wheel for reducing the displacement resistance. The shell element is divided into at least two parts approximately in the axial direction of the steering shaft. The steering wheel and the steering shaft press the shell parts of the shell element apart radially to the outside in the event of an axial displacement.

Steering column in a motor vehicle

An eversible tube is provided in a motor vehicle, especially as a connecting part for two steering shaft sections and which can be everted, starting at one end, during axial imposition of force with plastic deformation and energy consumption. Beginning at the eversion end, it has a longitudinal section that is easier to deform than the next longitudinal section.

A steering column for a motor vehicle has a steering spindle section which can be deformed in an energy-converting manner during a crash. On a side acted upon by the impact, the steering spindle is displaceably disposed in an axial slide bearing and is held at the opposite end in an axial fixed bearing. At least one additional slide bearing radially supports the steering spindle on the motor vehicle close to the deformable steering spindle section, on the side acted upon by the impact.

A servo-drive device is provided for an actuating of, for example, ventilation dampers in motor-vehicle air-conditioning installations element which can be stably positioned in a plurality of positions, d.c. motors with a gear mechanism are used for servo-drive devices of this type. A mechanical system which is moved at the same time and has potential energy varying along its path of movement is coupled to the servo drive such that it influences the current of the servo motor to permit the respective position of the actuating element to be identified by a control device on the basis of the evaluation of the motor current characteristically which depends on the force exerted by the mechanical system on the actuating element.

Actuating-element positioning servo-drive device

A control device for a remote-controllable actuation device which, counter to an energy accumulator which acts on the actuation device and loads the actuation device in the direction of a limit position, can be moved into its other limit position by a flexurally weak transmission device. In order to increase user friendliness the control device is also provided with an energy accumulator which acts on the control device, the instantaneous force of the accumulator corresponding, with opposing direction of action, to the respective instantaneous force acting on the actuation device.
