A display module for displaying passenger-specific display information in an aircraft, comprising: a display, a control unit, a storage device, and a first interface, wherein the first interface is connected to the control unit, and wherein the control unit is designed, on the basis of a signal that is present at the first interface, to read out a storage device content stored in the storage device and associated with the signal in relation to display information, and on the basis of the read-out storage device content and of the signal present at the interface to control the display.

Integration of supply functions is provided in a storage compartment. In particular, an integrated module is provided, which can be mounted in the overhead area of a passenger cabin, and exhibits different system components, which are automatically hooked up to the supply system of the transport (e.g., an aircraft) during the mechanical installation of the module on the load-bearing structure of the cabin.

A user interface for monitoring and controlling a plurality of aircraft cabin systems includes a liquid crystal display screen (LCD) having a touch sensitive input surface including a plurality of touch sensitive input keys. Each key is labeled with a symbol identifying a respective one of the plurality of aircraft cabin systems. First and second system menus corresponding to first and second systems of the plurality of aircraft cabin systems are displayable on the LCD as first and second system graphical menus when a key identifying the appropriate system is activated by the user. The graphical menus include status information and operating functions as well as an input area that provides selection and control of the operating functions of the respective system when touched by the user.

User interface, system and computer product for monitoring aircraft cabin systems

A method of monitoring and controlling aircraft cabin systems using a user interface having a touch sensitive display and a plurality of input keys corresponding to the systems. One of the input keys corresponding to a first aircraft cabin system is activated to display a first system graphical menu having status information and operating functions of the first system, and a touch sensitive input area of the first system graphical menu is touched to perform selection or control of the first system. Another one of the input keys corresponding to a second aircraft cabin system can be activated to display a second system graphical menu having status information and operating functions of the second system, and a touch sensitive input area of the second system graphical menu can be touched to perform selection and control of the second system.

A monitoring and control device includes a touch sensitive LCD screen, with a basic layout including a display area and touch sensitive keys depicted with associated system and function symbols. A main menu or any one of plural system menus can be selectively displayed in the display area. The system menus relate to cabin systems such as audio, lighting, and water systems. The selected system menu displays status information and touch input keys for the user to monitor the status and to select and control the operation of the system. The main menu is a top level window providing essential information regarding all of the cabin systems and allows a user to select any one of the system menus. The device is compact, user-friendly, and adaptable to various system requirements by mere software reprogramming. The displays and input keys are all virtual elements generated by software.

Touch sensitive input and display arrangement for controlling and monitoring aircraft cabin systems

Passenger service units in an aircraft are equipped with a passenger interface and supply adapter ( ). Each adapter includes an individual processor ( ) which is programmable independently of the aircraft central control through a programming input. The programmable interface ( ) permits controlling passenger service components in the passenger cabin such as lamps in a cabin lighting system, a public address system, and so forth, directly by the interface ( ) independently of the aircraft central control. The interface ( ) with its own individual processor ( ) and memory ( ) is connected through a databus ( ) to the aircraft central control ( ), for example, for remote programming of the interface and for reporting the module's activities to the aircraft central control. The interface ( ) reduces the memory capacity requirements for the aircraft central control and permits the individual programming of each passenger service unit also independently of any other passenger service unit thereby avoiding retesting of the entire cabin system when for example only one passenger service unit is reprogrammed.
