The present disclosure is directed to a virtual reality headset that includes a primary lens area and a peripheral lens area. The virtual reality headset may also include one or more primary display screens aligned with the primary lens areas and multiple secondary display screens aligned with the peripheral lens areas. The peripheral lens areas may include a semi-transparent texture to distort images viewed through the peripheral lens area to appear as though through a peripheral vision view and to supplement main images viewed through the primary lens area.

A layered reporting system for an attraction may include a primary and secondary wireless communication network that are separate from one another. Systems and methods are disclosed that dynamically and laterally shift each virtual object displayed by an augmented reality headset by a respective distance as the respective virtual object is displayed to change virtual depth from a first virtual depth to a second virtual depth. The respective distance may be determined based on a lateral distance between a first convergence vector of a user's eye with the respective virtual object at the first virtual depth and a second convergence vector of the user's eye with the respective virtual object at the second virtual depth along the display, and may be based on an interpupillary distance. In this manner, display of the virtual object may be adjusted such that the gazes of the user's eyes may converge where the virtual object appears to be.

A quick disconnect system for an accessory electrically coupled to a component of an amusement attraction includes a multi-part electrical enclosure including a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a first opening on the first side, and a relief pass through. The multi-part electrical enclosure is configured to: have a first electrical cable coupled to the accessory pass into the multi-part electrical enclosure via the first opening and have a second electrical cable pass into the second side of the multi-part electrical enclosure to enable the first and second cables to be coupled together within the multi-part electrical enclosure. The relief pass through is configured to provide strain relief to both the first electrical cable and the second electrical cable and to prevent disconnection of the accessory from the multi-part electrical enclosure.

System and method for rapidly changing an accessory for an amusement attraction

An amusement park attraction includes a ride vehicle configured to travel along a path of the amusement park attraction, an attraction controller configured to generate virtual elements, and a robot assembly disposed on the ride vehicle. The head of the robot assembly is configured to adjust positions relative to the ride vehicle. The amusement park attraction further includes a headset communicatively coupled to the attraction controller and a camera disposed in the head of the robot assembly. The headset is configured to be disposed on the head of the robot assembly. The headset is also configured to display the virtual elements generated by the attraction controller based on a headset position in the amusement park attraction. The camera is configured to acquire data indicative of the virtual elements displayed by the headset.

A wearable visualization device configured to provide a user with an augmented reality, a virtual reality, and/or a mixed reality experience includes a housing and a lens portion extending from the housing. The wearable visualization device includes a first display screen and a second display screen coupled to the housing and configured to project light onto the lens portion, where the lens portion is configured to reflect at least a portion of the light into eyes of the user. Present embodiments are directed toward a dynamic control system for an amusement park ride. The system includes a game server that generates game data describing movement of a virtual vehicle through a virtual environment; a programmable logic controller (PLC) configured to conditionally execute instructions of a dynamic ride profile relative to one or more stored limits to operate physical actions of the ride vehicle; and a dynamic ride profile server communicatively coupled to the game server and the PLC. The dynamic ride profile server is configured to: receive input data, sensor data, and the game data; provide the received data as inputs to one or more physical models to generate a portion of a dynamic ride profile based on the movement of the virtual vehicle through the virtual environment; and provide the portion of the dynamic ride profile to the PLC for conditional execution.
