A display system of a vehicle displays a virtual image. The display system has a projection device, which is configured to emit display light in order to generate an image, and a reflecting device, which is configured for a first reflection of display light of the projection device arranged above the reflecting device by way of the reflecting device attached in or on an instrument panel of the vehicle. The display light of the projection device incident on the reflecting device is substantially retroreflected. The display system further includes a windshield of the vehicle, which windshield is configured for a second reflection of at least part of the display light, which was reflected by the reflecting device, to the eyes of an observer in the vehicle in order to allow the observer to see, behind the windshield, the virtual image of the image generated by the projection device.

A motor vehicle having an external rearview mirror includes a mirror drive assigned to the external rearview mirror, by which the external rearview mirror can be moved into a first mirror position or into a second mirror position, at least one display unit that can be viewed by the driver of the motor vehicle, and a camera directed at the rearward vehicle surroundings, which camera supplies an image signal on which an image of the surroundings is based that can be displayed by the display unit. A vehicle speed sensor and a control unit are provided by which the mirror drive can be controlled as a function of the driving speed such that the external rearview mirror is moved from the first mirror position into the second mirror position.

A light for motor vehicles includes a rod-shaped optical waveguide having at least two optical waveguide arms arranged behind one another in their longitudinal direction, and between which at least one light source is arranged whose light can be coupled on a front side of the light into the optical waveguide arms and can be emitted transversely to their longitudinal direction by way of a light exit surface situated opposite a reflecting surface. In a central area between the optical waveguide arms, a row of more than two light sources is aligned in the longitudinal direction of the optical waveguide arrangement. The light of two outer light sources can be coupled into the respective front sides of the adjacent optical waveguide arms, and the light of at least one light source situated in-between the two outer light sources can be emitted directly in the direction of the light exit surface.

Light for motor vehicles

A headlight, especially a headlight for a vehicle, includes a light source with a reflector in front thereof and a fiber-optic light guide which is embodied as an elongated light decoupling element, which is at least partially adjacent to one end of the reflector. A light exiting surface faces away from the reflector. The inner side of the reflector facing towards the light source is at least partially embodied in such a way that it forms a first focal point in the position of the light source and reflects light radiated from the light source to an incident light surface of the light decoupling element facing way from the light exiting surface.
