The invention relates to a multilayer body comprising at least one substrate layer, a metal layer bonded directly thereto and optionally at least one protective layer atop the metal layer, wherein the substrate layer comprises a composition which is obtained by mixing polycarbonate, talc and a specific wax. It was shown that the multilayer bodies obtained are particularly suitable for use as reflectors and (housing) components for light sources and heat sources and displays.

A multilayer product characterized by its improved weatherability and mechanical properties is disclosed. The product contains a layer A containing a member selected from the group consisting of transparent thermoplastic material and a lacquer, the member containing at least one UV absorber, a layer B containing a transparent thermoplastic material and containing at least one colorant, and a layer C containing a transparent thermoplastic material. Also disclosed is a process for the preparation of the inventive multilayer product.

The present invention provides an antistatic agent of the formula (I)R&#x2014;SONR'R&#x2033;R&#x2032;&#x2033;R&#x2033;&#x2033; &#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein R represents a perfluorinated cyclic or linear, branched or unbranched carbon chain having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, R&#x2032; represents a cyclic or linear, branched or unbranched carbon chain having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, which is unsubstituted or substituted with halogen, hydroxy, cycloalkyl or alkyl, and R&#x2033;, R&#x2032;&#x2033;, R&#x2033;&#x2033; independently represent a cyclic or linear, branched or unbranched carbon chain having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, which is unsubstituted or substituted with halogen, hydroxy, cycloalkyl or alkyl, with the proviso that at least one of the radicals R&#x2032;, R&#x2033;, R&#x2032;&#x2033; and R&#x2033;&#x2033; must not represent ethyl. The antistatic agent of the present invention may be incorporated in plastic molding materials to provide antistatic properties thereto.

Antistatic agent

A composition containing transparent thermoplastic polymers and a surface modified oxide particles is disclosed. The size of the particles is less than 200 nm and the composition is suitable for the preparation of products wherever diathermancy is undesirable.

IR absorbing compositions

The present invention provides compositions containing transparent thermoplastic polymer, surface-modified oxide particles with a particle size of less than 200 nm, and organic NIR absorbers. The compositions of the present invention may find use in reducing diathermancy in sheets, films, glazing systems and roofing systems which may be incorporated into automobiles and buildings.

IR-absorbing compositions

The present invention relates to natural-colored and pigmented thermoplastic molding compositions and molded parts fabricated therefrom that are laser-absorbing at least in partial spectral regions of the wavelength range from 700 to 1200 nm and that can be welded by laser beam welding and to molded parts that are transparent or translucent to laser light.

Laser-absorbing molding compositions with low carbon black contents

An agent suitable for imparting antistatic properties to plastics is disclosed. The incorporation of small amounts of perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid salt in plastic resins, notably thermoplastic resins was found to be effective for this purpose.

A transparent heat-absorbent multi-layer structure comprising, (A) a first layer, and (B) a second layer is described. The first layer (A) contains at least one organic infrared absorber (e.g., a phthalocyanine) and at least one ultraviolet absorber (e.g., a benzotriazole), and the second layer (B) contains at least one ultraviolet absorber and is substantially free of organic infrared absorbers. The first layer (A) is the only layer in the multi-layer structure that contains an organic infrared absorber. Also described is a method of preparing the multi-layer structure. Molded articles that may comprise the multi-layer structure of the present invention include glazings, such as automotive glazings.

The present invention relates to novel double metal cyanide (DMC) catalysts for the preparation of polyether polyols by a polyaddition reaction between alkylene oxides and starter compounds having active hydrogen atoms, wherein the catalyst contains a) at least one double metal cyanide compound, b) at least one organic complexing ligand and c) at least one fluorine-containing complexing ligand.
