The present invention proposes a process for purifying raw carbon nanotubes to obtain an content in metallic impurities comprised between 5 ppm and 200 ppm. The process includes an increase in the bulk density of the raw carbon nanotubes via compacting to produce compacted carbon nanotubes. The process further includes sintering the compacted carbon nanotubes by undergoing thermal treatment under gaseous atmosphere in order to remove at least a portion of the metallic impurities contained in the raw carbon nanotubes, and consequently producing purified carbon nanotubes. These purified carbon nanotubes are directly usable as electronic conductors serving as basis additive to an electrode material without requiring any subsequent purification step. The electrode material can then be used to manufacture an electrode destined to a lithium-ion battery.

Method for the purification of raw carbon nanotubes

A method for preparing a multilayer material based on active lithium, by depositing a film of active lithium on a protective layer at a sufficient speed so that substantially no oxidation of the lithium occurs, and/or during a sufficient time for the adhesion of the lithium to develop after contact with the protective layer. The multilayer material, when incorporated in an electrochemical battery as an anode, has excellent impedance stability and no formation of dendrites during the cycling. Batteries where the anode is the multilayer material are particularly efficient in terms of their coulombic efficiency.

Multilayer material based on active lithium, method of preparation and applications in electrochemical generators

Particles including a core and a coat covering at least part of the core surface. The core has more than 50% of an acidic metal oxide and the core coating is based on a polymer, preferably based on a solid polymer with high electrochemical stability. The particle has a solubility rate (ds), in fixed time, of the metal oxide migrating towards the electrolyte, per cycle, which is less than 5 per 10000. The particles are obtained by mixing the polymer and a metal oxide, via dry process with addition of solvent. The electrodes constituting an electrode substrate at least partly coated with a mixture consisting of at least 40 of those particles have remarkable electrochemical properties, in particular regarding the lifetime of batteries in which they are incorporated.

Coated metal oxide particles with low dissolution rate, methods for preparing same and use thereof in electrochemical systems

An aprotic polymer/molten salt ternary mixture solvent and to a corresponding quaternary mixture additionally including an ionic conducting salt, which are prepared by mixing the constituents of the mixture. These mixtures are advantageously used in the preparation of electrochemical membranes, electrochemical systems and of electrochromic systems. Also, electrochemical and electrochromic systems obtained hereby that exhibit, in particular, excellent electrochemical properties at low temperatures.

Aprotic polymer-molten salt-solvent ternary composition, method for the preparation and use thereof in electrochemical systems

Process for the purification of an ionic electrolyte including at least one alkali metal salt, the process having at least one stage in which particles of at least one calcium salt are brought into contact. The process makes it possible to obtain electrolytes characterized in particular by particularly low water content. The corresponding electrochemical generators which incorporate the electrolyte as constituent component are characterized by a noteworthy stability and are particularly safe.

A positive electrode material is used to produce a positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery, the positive electrode material being a composite lithium material that includes a first lithium compound and a second lithium compound. For instance, the first lithium compound is in the form of particles and comprises at least one compound selected from a layered lithium compound and a spinel-type lithium compound. Preferably, the second lithium compound comprises at least one compound selected from a lithium-containing phosphate compound and a lithium-containing silicate compound. An amorphous carbon material layer and/or graphene-structured carbon material layer is present on the entire surface of the first lithium compound and the second lithium compound. The second lithium compound forms a thin-film layer on part or the entirety of the carbon material layer present on the surface of the first lithium compound particles.

Positive electrode material for lithium secondary battery

Process for the purification of an ionic electrolyte comprising at least one alkali metal salt, the process having at least one stage in which particles of at least one calcium salt are brought into contact. The process makes it possible to obtain electrolytes characterized in particular by a particularly low water content. The corresponding electrochemical generators which incorporate the electrolyte as constituent component are characterized by a noteworthy stability and are particularly safe.

A positive electrode material, having particles having a complex oxide OC1 core, an at least partial complex oxide OC2 coating, and an adhesive carbon surface deposit. The material is characterized in that the complex oxide OC1 is an oxide having a high energy density and in that the oxide OC2 is an oxide of a metal having a catalytic effect on the reaction of the carbon deposit, the oxide having good electronic conductivity. The presence of the OC2 layer facilitates the deposit of a carbon adhesive layer at the surface of the oxide particles, and improves the conductivity of the material when the latter is used as an electrode material. The electrode material can particularly be used in the manufacture of a lithium battery.

A flexible transparent electrochromic device, which includes the following components, each of which is a flexible film: a working electrode comprising a transparent conducting substrate supporting an working electrode active material; a counter electrode including a transparent conducting substrate supporting a counter electrode active material; a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) including a solution of a lithium salt in a polymer solvent. A method for preparing an electrochromic device includes the steps of: preparing a working electrode film, preparing a counter electrode film, preparing a polymer electrolyte film, and assembling the electrodes and the electrolyte, the method being implemented continuously.

Flexible transparent electrochomic device, and a method for the preparation thereof

A multilayer material including a solid substrate and at least two superimposed solid layers containing particles of an electrochemically active material, the first solid layer adhering to the solid substrate and the second solid layer adhering to the first solid layer. The multilayer material has a constant thickness of upper layer not less than 95% and a depth of penetration of the second layer into the first layer which is less than 10% of the thickness of the first layer, and enables as electrode constituent, generators having a low risk of overload degradation to be prepared.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electrochemical cell comprising an anode and a cathode separated by a separator and a gel electrolyte. The method comprises the steps of assembling the electrodes and the separator, and injecting a liquid electrolyte composition between the electrodes, the liquid electrolyte composition comprising a polymer, an aprotic liquid solvent and a lithium salt, wherein the polymer in the liquid electrolyte composition has functional groups capable of polymerizing via cationic polymerization, and the cell is submitted to an electrochemical cycling comprising a charging step and a discharging step.

Method for preparing an electrochemical cell having a gel electrolyte

A mixture of particles having a carrier based on at least one active material Mof average size Tand of specific surface Son which are bonded, via physical and/or chemical bonds, particles of at least an electronically conductive material Mof average size Tand of specific surface S. The mixture is characterized in that: the average size ratio T/Tranges between 5 and 10000; the specific surface ratio S/Sranges between 1/300 and 1/2; and the amount of active material present in the mixture preferably represents more than 80% of the amount of the conductive material. The incorporation of said mixtures into elements constituting electrochemical systems substantially improves the performances of the latter.
