A busway for power distribution to equipment positioned in information technology racks includes a plurality of locations in the busway suitably being configured to receive a plurality of detachably engageable taps. The busway, which are external to the information technology racks, includes a plurality of segments, each of which are detachably engaged with one another and including at least one of the plurality of locations. The busway provides power to the information technology racks by respective taps, where each of the taps includes a respective electrical sensor that senses at least one of a voltage level and a current level. Each of the electrical sensors providers an output signal to a computing device.

A system for calibrating a power meter may include mechanically detachably electrically engaging a first power meter with a second power meter. The first power meter may receive a first current input signal representative of a current level in a first conductor to a load and receive a first voltage input signal representative of a voltage level in the first conductor, and determine a first power level based upon the first current input signal and the first voltage input signal. A second power meter may receive a second current input signal representative of the current level in the first conductor to the load from the first power meter, receive a second voltage input signal representative of the voltage level in the first conductor to the load from the first power meter, and determine a second power level based upon the second current input signal and the second voltage input signal.

The power meter configures a set of registers corresponding to the determined type of circuit in a manner such that the configuring is different based upon each of the single phase circuit, two phase circuit, and three phase circuit suitable to provide data corresponding to the determined type of circuit.
