A method for operating a telematics system that determines the current geographic position of a user device with respect to a static boundary separating a first zone and a second zone, determines at least one first parameter, determines a dynamic boundary separating the first zone and the second zone, based on the course of the static boundary, the current geographic position and the at least one first parameter, determines whether the current position of the user device is located in the first zone or the second zone based on the course of the dynamic boundary, and activates or deactivates one or more telematics services depending on the zone the user device is located in.

Telematics system and method for operating a telematics system

The present disclosure relates to controlling a terminal system. An example computer-implemented method for controlling a terminal system, which is connectable to multiple provider networks and comprises multiple network access devices (NADs) and a computer system, includes reading information on the physical and/or logical location of the terminal system, reading user configurations and provider service layer agreements, and, based on the read information, user configurations, and provider service layer agreements, creating associations between applications to be run on the NADs or the terminal system, the NADs, and the multiple provider networks. The example method further includes, based on the created associations and the information on the physical and/or logical location of the terminal system, selecting one of the NADs and one of the provider networks for running one of the applications on the selected NAD and connecting the selected NAD with the selected provider network.

Telematic system with multiple network access devices in a multi-network environment

A terminal system may be connected to a communication network and multiple network access devices (NADs). The terminal system may include a computer system and a database. The computer system may read information from the database regarding associations between the NADs and media and applications to be run on the computer system and/or the NADs. Based on the read information the computer system can control access of: a) at least one of the NADs to a media and/or b) at least one of the applications to a media and/or c) at least one of the applications to at least one of the NADs. The information can include provider rules for associations between providers and NADs for providers providing services via the communication network and/or constraints on associations between NADs and applications.

Managing operation of a telematic system

A telematics system can include a processor, installed in a vehicle, ship, or other mode of transport of people, configured to identify an error state of an telematics component providing a telematics service. The processor can also be configured to communicate the error state to a logger component via a logging message. The logger component may be configured to generate a log file based on the logging message.

Telematics system

A computer-implemented method for managing data traffic comprises connecting at least two telematic devices to a computer system and managing, by the computer system, a connection of the at least two telematic devices to a communication network for receiving data from the communication network by the at least two telematic devices. The method runs at least one telematic application on the computer system or on at least one of the at least two telematic devices based on the data received from the communication network. The computer system controls the at least two telematic devices such that both of the at least two telematic devices receive the data for the at least one telematic application from the communication network at the same time or one of the at least two telematic devices receives the data from the communication network at a first time period whereas the other one of the at least two telematic devices receives the data from the communication network at a second time period different from the first time period.
