Disclosed herein are methods and compilers for compiling code. The methods and compilers disclosed can compile a callable compilable unit of code free of declarations and assertions that identify attributes of arguments expressed therein. In one embodiment, a method for checking consistency of user-settable isolated parameters among a first graphical modeling component and a second graphical modeling component in an executable graphical model is provided. The method includes designating that the first graphical modeling component and the second graphical modeling component are related; checking consistency between a first user-settable isolated parameter of the first graphical modeling component and a corresponding second user-settable isolated parameter of the second graphical modeling component; and displaying an error when the first user-settable isolated parameter and the corresponding second user-settable isolated parameter are not consistent with each other.

Exemplary embodiments report delay incurred in a model. Exemplary embodiments identify an incurred delay that is related to a graphical affordance in the model and generate a visual indicator associated with the graphical affordance in the model. The visual indicator is related to the incurred delay. Exemplary embodiments render the visual indicator with an output device to depict the incurred delay that is related to the graphical affordance in the model.

Reporting delay using visual indicators in a model

Methods and systems for automatically reporting delay incurred in a model is disclosed. The delay may be incurred in a part or in an entire portion of the model. Delay incurred in each component of the model is determined and reported to users before executing the model. The delay of each component of the model may be determined based on intrinsic information of the component. If the intrinsic information of the component does not provide information on the delay of the component, the component may be simulated to determine the delay of the components. The model may be automatically compensated for the delay. The delay is reported prior to the execution of the model, and compensated for without executing the model.

Reporting delay in modeling environments

A graphical modeling environment is provided for a user to build a model in which signals and/or block parameters can be represented using a fixed-point data type. When the graphical model is executed, the graphical model may generate fixed-point data type signals. An exemplary embodiment may information about fixed-point data type signals on the graphical model. Based on the information provided on the graphical model, the user may be able to determine whether an appropriate number of bits are allocated to the integer part of the fixed-point data type signals and/or whether the total number of bits, i.e., the word length is adequate or over-engineered.

Interference is reduced with a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system having a set of basestations including a first basestation and a second basestation is reduced. Signals associated with the first basestation having its own antenna elements are received. The first basestation is associated with its own mobile stations each having their own antenna elements. Each signal associated with the first basestation is uniquely associated with a mobile station associated with the first basestation. Signals associated with the second basestation having its own antenna elements are received. The second basestation is associated with its own mobile stations each having their own antenna elements. Each signal associated with the second basestation is uniquely associated with a mobile station associated with the second basestation. Signals associated with the first basestation are jointly detected in conjunction with the signals associated with the second basestation to produce a set of detected signals.

Method and apparatus for reducing interference in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems

Multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology is used in a point-to-point radio link to provide higher data rates than would otherwise be achievable in a similar system that did not use MIMO antenna technology. Particular embodiments of the invention implement channel coding, dual polarization, adaptive receiver combining and adaptive power control.

Compensating for delay in modeling environments

The feedback structure of a frequency domain decision feedback equalizer is implemented in the frequency domain, rather than in the time domain. Advantageously, this permits the synthesis of long feedback filters with a much smaller increase in receiver complexity than is the case when the feedback structure is illustratively implemented in the time domain. Adaptation of the characteristics of the feedback structure of the frequency domain equalizer (as well as its feedforward structure) is carried out based on tentative symbol decisions that are fed back on a block basis. Although possibly rendering the receiver more susceptible to channel estimation errors, this approach renders the receiver capable not only of the post-cursor intersymbol interference cancellation afforded by a standard DFE, but pre-cursor intersymbol interference cancellation, as well, helping to offset any impact of increased channel estimation errors.
