Disclosed is a rock bolt assembly including: an elongate bolt extending with distal and proximal ends; a tubular sleeve longitudinally extending between leading and trailing ends on the bolt so at least a proximal end portion projects from the trailing end of the sleeve; and a nozzle docking bush on the proximal end portion between the sleeve's trailing end and the bolt's proximal end. The bush has a cylindrical body between first and second ends, a central hole extending through the body, spaced-apart annular ridges on the cylindrical body, a grout distributing channel between the ridges, and an aperture in the channel connecting the channel and hole. The central hole includes a leading portion ending at the first end, sealingly receiving the trailing end. A trailing portion of the central hole ends at the second end and sealingly engages the bolt. Each annular ridge seals against a grout nozzle.

Resin-grouted rock bolt assembly with an adapted sealing bush

A single-use sealing bush which is adapted to form a sealing interface between a rock bolt and a nozzle of a grout delivery system, the sealing bush including a cylindrical body defined between a first end and a second end; a hole in the first end of the body that is adapted to receive the rock bolt; a pair of spaced apart annular ridges, on an outer cylindrical surface of the body, between which a grout distributing channel is defined; and an aperture which connects the channel to the recess; wherein each annular ridge is adapted to seal against the nozzle in a position which communicates a grout inlet port of the nozzle with the grout distributing channel.

A rock anchor assembly includes: a tubular sleeve between first and second ends, having an anchor retaining portion opening on the second end; a rock anchor with an elongate body extending between distal and proximal ends, received in the tubular sleeve with the proximal and distal ends of the body projecting from the first and second ends respectively of the sleeve; a tensioning and locking assemblage on the anchor body between the proximal end and the first end of the sleeve, a forward part being engageable with the first end of the sleeve; and a mechanical anchor engaged to the anchor body at the distal end which, from an unexpanded configuration, expands radially to an expanded configuration. The anchor retaining portion at least partially retains the mechanical anchor in the unexpanded configuration. The anchor retaining portion expands circumferentially to accommodate retracted ingress of the anchor in the expanded configuration.

Adapted grout delivery sleeve

A friction bolt assembly includes: an expansible sleeve having a tubular body between leading and trailing ends, which body has a longitudinally extending formation about which the body resiliently deforms and which formation extends along at least part of the body, ending at the body leading end; a rod extending through the sleeve body and between first and second ends and on which a projecting part is defined between the trailing end of the sleeve body and the second end; an expansion element on the rod at the first end; a first load bearing formation on the projecting rod part, moveable along the projecting part to abut the sleeve trailing end; a load applicator on the projecting part of the rod; and a second load bearing formation mounted over the projecting part of the rod between the first load bearing formation and the load applicator unit.

Radially expansible rock bolt

Disclosed is a cable anchor assembly including: a cable anchor body longitudinally extending between leading and trailing ends; a tensioning device with an outer member having first and second ends and a threaded through passage between the ends and an inner member which threadedly engages the threaded passage of the outer member and fixedly attached to the cable anchor body at or towards the trailing end; a faceplate engaging the cable anchor body between the leading end and the tensioning device. In use, with the cable anchor body inserted in a borehole and anchored therein, the faceplate positioned against a rock face and the first end of the outer member abutting the faceplate, the outer member is rotatable relative to the inner member, causing the inner member to move within the passage towards the second end of the outer member, drawing on the cable anchor body, tensioning the body.

A rock bolt includes an elongate metallic body having a first end and an opposed second end, a threaded portion at the second end, for attaching thereto and locating thereon, a nut and a bearing plate, a mechanical anchor at, or at least partially located on, a first end portion of the body and a first resistive anchor, located between the threaded portion and the mechanical anchor.

Method of supporting a rock wall

A rock anchor includes a cartridge positioned in an elongate tubular body and having a rigid tubular housing. First and second compartments are defined within the cartridge. First and second adhesive components are positioned within the respective first and second compartments and are fluidly separated by a partitioning wall. A mixer is positioned within the elongate tubular body at a leading end of the cartridge. A pressing member is positioned within the cartridge towards a trailing end and includes a bladed formation which is operable to sever the partitioning wall when the bladed formation is caused to advance towards the leading end in response to fluid flowing into the cartridge, to thereby force the first adhesive component from the first compartment and the second adhesive component from the second compartment towards the leading end and into the mixer.

Tubular rock anchor

A rock anchor includes an elongate tubular body which extends between a first end and an opposing second end and a cartridge contains a multi-component adhesive system in the tubular body. The cartridge has a rigid tubular housing within which at least one compartment is defined, and in which is contained an adhesive component of the system. The at least one compartment yields to volumetrically reduce under fluid pressure created by a fluid input into the housing, to thereby extrude the adhesive components.
