A single stroke fluid dispense system, including a dispense member having a dispense end defining a dispense end opening and a container well communicating with the dispense end opening for receiving a fluid to be dispensed. A closure cap is supported over the dispense end opening of the dispense member and further defines a fluid passageway therethrough in fluid communication with the container well. A compression assembly for forcing the fluid through the fluid passageway of the closure cap is also provided. A sealing piston assembly maintains the closure cap in sealing engagement with the dispense member. The closure cap may further defined a burst port at one end of the fluid passageway facing the container well which is especially useful for dispensing fluid from a flexible rupturable container. The compression assembly maintains fluid integrity between the container and the closure cap about the rupture port throughout dispensement so as to thwart fluid from leaking into the container well. The container also seals the interface between the dispense member and the closure cap during dispensement of the fluid to be dispensed through the closure cap. The compression assembly further augments the sealing force between the dispense member and the closure cap by forcing the container against the internal dispense cylinder wall to further carry the dispense cylinder against the closure cap.

Single stroke fluid dispense system

A rotating fluid wide band applicator head which permits application of a relatively wide band of fluid without the necessity for translational motion of the head with respect to the object being coated. The applicator head includes a rotatable body having an axis of rotation and having a fluid delivery chamber disposed within the body. A plurality of bounded channels having open inner ends and open outer ends are provided. The open inner ends of the channels are in fluid communication with the fluid delivery chamber, to receive fluid therefrom and transport the fluid. The open outer ends of the channels are arranged to discharge the fluid in a desired pattern, resulting in deposition of a band of fluid having a desired width.

Rotating fluid wide band applicator

An apparatus for coating a web by contact with a transfer roll partially immersed in a reservoir of coating material and rotated into resin-transferring contact with the web on a first main web surface thereof. The web in passage away from the transfer roll is contacted on a second main surface of the web, the second main surface being opposite the first main surface of the web, by a medial main cylindrical portion of a stepped squeegee roll comprising a medial main cylindrical portion of a first relatively smaller diameter, and marginal shoulder portions each of a second relatively larger diameter in relation to the diameter of the medial main cylindrical portion. The stepped squeegee roll is tensionally biased toward, but in spaced relationship to the transfer roll, being maintained in tensionally biased relationship by spring or other tensionally biasing means, to limit the coating material thickness on the web.

A coating applicator for applying a layer of coating material around the circumference of a portion of an elongated shaft, such as a bolt. The applicator includes a chamber which is filled with coating material and has an opening for receiving the elongated member. The opening in the chamber has a cross-sectional dimension just slightly larger than the elongated member. A cover arranged within the chamber in sealing contact with the opening prevents leakage of coating material. This cover is retractable upon insertion of the elongated member into the chamber. Coating material then totally surrounds and coats the entire circumference of a limited longitudinal portion of the elongated member. The coated elongated member is subsequently removed from the chamber. As the elongated member is removed, the inner walls of the chamber which define the opening serve to remove excess coating material from the member and to smooth the layer of coating material.
