A Personal Identity Verification System for verifying the identity of an individual () carrying a wireless mobile communications device () is proposed, comprising image data of an area of the individual's body, said image data being stored in the wireless mobile communications device (), at least one image capture device () configured to capture visual data of an area of the individual's body and at least one wireless communications module () configured to receive the image data from the wireless mobile communications device (). Further, an electronic circuit () is provided that is configured to compare the visual data with the image data and to generate positive verification information when the visual data and the image data are established to be similar within a similarity-tolerance.

Personal identity verification system and method for verifying the identity of an individual

For communicating securely between electronic devices using symmetric key encryption, a first electronic device transfers to a second electronic device metadata with positional information which indicates the position of a first cryptographic key in a cryptographic key hierarchy. The second electronic device derives the first cryptographic key by way of a one-way function from a second cryptographic key stored in the second electronic device, using the positional information received from the first electronic device. Subsequently, the first electronic device and the second electronic device communicate data securely with symmetric key encryption using the first cryptographic key.

Method and devices for communicating securely between devices

For verifying authorization associated with a first electronic device by a second electronic device, using symmetric key encryption, the second electronic device receives from the first electronic device encrypted data and metadata with a key space identifier and positional information. The key space identifier defines a cryptographic key hierarchy and the positional information defines in the cryptographic key hierarchy the cryptographic key used to generate the encrypted data. The second electronic device derives the cryptographic key by way of a one-way function from cryptographic keys stored in the second electronic device, using the key space identifier and the positional information received from the first electronic device. The second electronic device decrypts the encrypted data, using the derived cryptographic key, for verifying the authorization associated with the first electronic device.

Method and devices for verifying authorization of an electronic device

For transmitting a secured data package from a computer system to a short-range communication device, the secured data package is transmitted from the computer system via a mobile radio network to a mobile communication apparatus. The mobile communication apparatus is placed in the communication range of the short-range communication device and receives from the short-range communication device a data read request, which includes device location information. The mobile communication apparatus determines the current location of the mobile communication apparatus. In case of correspondence of the current apparatus location with the received device location information, the mobile communication apparatus determines positive access authorization and transfers the secured data package to the short-range communication device.
