A method of and a system for treating a lesion. A waveguide is inserted into a vessel of a subject, with the lesion being present in the vessel and the waveguide extending longitudinally between a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end of the waveguide is positioned adjacent to the lesion, and a high amplitude broadband mechanical pulse is generated and propagated from the proximal end to the distal end of the waveguide. At least a portion of the high amplitude broadband mechanical pulse is propagated from the distal end of the waveguide to the lesion, with the at least a portion of the high amplitude broadband mechanical pulse propagating up to the lesion, thereby treating at least partially the lesion.

There is described a device for connecting a first mechanical waveguide and a second mechanical waveguide, including a first body for receiving the first waveguide, and a second body for receiving the second waveguide. The face may have increased stiffness as compared to existing faces, and may include a stiffening structure to create the increased stiffness, such as a porous or cellular stiffening structure.

The present disclosure relates to a needleless syringe and method for delivering therapeutic particles. A source of therapeutic particles is located between a gas source and a cannon having a side opening. Gas released from the gas source causes a propagation of the therapeutic particles through the cannon. The side opening causes a reduction of a pressure of the gas in the cannon.
