A motor vehicle seat arrangement for a motor vehicle. The seat arrangement comprising a vehicle seat, at least one inflatable element, means for inflating the inflatable element which inflate the inflatable element depending on a control signal. The vehicle seat arrangement is arranged in the vehicle and the inflatable element is designed and arranged in or on a side wall of a backrest of the vehicle seat in a way that it exerts a momentum on the upper part of the body of the vehicle occupant while it is inflated in answer to the control signal, so that the whole vehicle occupant is moved away from a collision section of the vehicle that collides or is going to collide with the object or that the thorax region of the upper part of the body of the vehicle occupant performs a tilting movement away from the collision section of the vehicle.

Motor vehicle seat arrangement and method for protecting a vehicle occupant

A vehicle seat arrangement for a motor vehicle is provided. The vehicle seat arrangement comprising a vehicle seat, which comprises at least one inflatable element for protecting a vehicle occupant residing on the vehicle seat. The inflatable element is formed and arranged such that said element expands predominantly in direction towards the vehicle occupant when inflated. The inflatable element is integrated into a backrest of the vehicle seat unfolded or provided with only one fold or a protuberance, wherein the inflatable element is arranged between a cushion of the vehicle seat and a cover of the vehicle seat or inside the cushion.

Vehicle seat arrangement and airbag arrangement for a motor vehicle and a method for protecting a vehicle occupant

An airbag comprises a bag which is bent in the shape of an arrow '&#x3c;' in a deployed state, and a connection member which is arranged on a side of the bag, facing a vehicle body, and connects the upper and lower ends of the bag with each other. A longitudinal intermediate portion of the bag projects toward a vehicle occupant. A space is defined between the projecting intermediate portion and the connection member. The head of the vehicle occupant initially comes into contact with the intermediate portion and then presses the bag toward the vehicle body. Upper and lower parts of the bag which extend upward and downward from the intermediate portion cooperate with the connection member to define a triangular space.

Airbag device

An occupant restraint device for a motor vehicle includes a supporting structure of the motor vehicle. The supporting structure includes an outer side facing an exterior of the vehicle and an inner side facing an interior of the vehicle. A vehicle seat includes an outer side facing the inner side of the supporting structure. A receptacle for an airbag is arranged on the outer side of the motor vehicle seat. An openable region is included on the receptacle such that the airbag can be deployed into the interior of the vehicle. A pre-crash detection device identifies an imminent application of force on the outer side of the supporting structure. The pre-crash detection device triggers a shifting of the receptacle from an inoperative position into an operative position along a direction of movement between the outer side of the vehicle seat and the inner side of the supporting structure.

An occupant restraint device for a vehicle, including a side cheek protruding from a backrest of a vehicle seat. A supporting structure of the vehicle has an outer side facing an exterior space of the vehicle and an inner side facing away from the exterior space of the vehicle and facing the outer side of the side cheek. An airbag arranged in the vehicle seat is supported on the inner side of the supporting structure and exerts an opposing force on the outer side of the side cheek when the airbag is inflated, the force being directed onto the outer side of the side cheek. A pre-crash detection device for identifying an imminent application of force on the outer side of the supporting structure from the exterior space, the pre-crash detection device activating an expansion of the side cheek in an expansion direction along the supporting structure.

The invention relates a gas bag () which is used for a car passenger-protecting system and comprises a gas generator () in which at least a part of the envelop of the bag sac is incorporated in the remaining segment of the envelop of the gas bag. The aim of said invention is to obtain a target positioning of said gas bag prior to blowing it. For this purpose, the segment of the envelop () forms a narrow filling channel () which extends in a predefined discharge direction () and can be connected to the gas generator.

Gas bag for a car passenger-protecting system

A lateral airbag device for a vehicle includes a head airbag which, in the event of an accident of said vehicle, provides impact protection for the head of the occupant of a vehicle. The head airbag has two head chambers in order to protect the head. A first head chamber curbs the movement of the head caused by the accident when said accident occurs and a second head chamber supports the first head chamber. The first head chamber is more permeable to gas than the second head chamber.

Lateral airbag device

An airbag for a passenger protection device affords optimum protection to a passenger while being produced using only a small amount of material and, therefore, in an economical manner. This is achieved by providing the airbag with at least two partial airbags that are fluidically connected to each other. At least one tensioning device draws the at least two partial airbags towards each other, thereby tensioning them together.
