The invention relates to a device for cooling rolling stock within the cooling stretch of a rolling mil, especially a hat-strip mill, whereby water spray devices are stationarily mounted below the rolling stock between rollers () of a roller train () and spray bars () held on support levers () are arranged above the rolling stock. The support levers are held be a tubular, rotationally driven and water-fed articulated tube () that extends in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the roller train. The device is further provided with a central water feed tube and an automatic control device with associated on/off valves for switching the cooling water on and off. The aim of the invention is to improve a device of the aforementioned kind in such a manner that the maximum cooling capacity to be obtained is increased while the length of the roller train required therefor is reduced, thereby attaining a compact design and high cooling capacity. According to the invention, the rollers of the roller train are therefore spaced as closely together as possible, the lower cooling bars () are disposed in the spaces remaining between the rollers and extend through these spaces with spray tubes () associated therewith. Furthermore, the rollers of the roller train are provided with elongated pins () that have a small diameter.

Device for cooling rolling stock within the cooling stretch of a rolling mill

The invention relates to a method and device for measuring and influencing the strip flatness in the coiler shaft of a hot-strip mill, whereby the coiler shaft has, between a driver and a coiler, moving and stationary strip guides as well as a flatness measuring roll (). The hot strip () is supplied via the coiler shaft to a coiler, which is provided with a coiler mandrel (), pressure rolls () and with deflecting shells (), over a roller table () and the driving rolls () of the driver. The flatness measuring roll () is displaced out of a working position, in which the hot strip is guided around the flatness measuring roll () while maintaining an approximately constant contact angle &#x3b1;, and into a lowered position. In addition, a strip guide (), which can swivel inward and protects the flatness measuring roll (), is placed inside the coiler shaft.

The invention relates to a hot rolling mill, with at least one flatness measuring roller, pertaining to at least one rolling bed, arranged before and/or after one of the stands, which influences the settings of at least one of the stands. The aim of the invention is to improve the arrangement of the roller bed working rollers and the flatness measuring roller, such that the flatness measuring roller may be, optionally, either brought into operation, or be withdrawn into a protected position, whereby, in this case, the gap in the rolling bed thus formed can be closed. Said aim is achieved, whereby the flatness measuring roller may be stored, away from its working position, behind a screen and that the rolling bed is completed with at least one retractable working roller.

A rotor winder and a method for operating the rotor winder, wherein the rotor winder has two rotors supported in a rotatable rotor with two winders which are driven independently from one another and are provided for successive continuous winding of hot strip. Each winder has a winder mandrel including several moveable segments for expanding the winder mandrel, wherein the segments are supported on axially moveable wedge-shaped gliding surfaces. The winders are moveable in cycles from an initial position into the coil transfer position by rotation of the rotor. A device is provided for guiding an incoming hot strip onto the winder mandrel of the winder positioned in the initial position and for holding the strip on the winder mandrel until a slip-free engagement of the strip is effected. The device for guiding and placing the incoming strip is arranged on a power-driven frame mounted so as to be moveable in a direction extending parallel to the axis of the winder.

The invention relates to a strip winder (,) for winding a hot or cold strip (,) into a coil, comprising a winder mandrel (,), pressure rolls (,) which can be in the form of comb rolls (,&prime;) deflection cups (,), and a feed shaft (,). The aim of the invention is to improve a strip winder of this type so that a hot or cold strip (,) can be wound securely on the winder mandrel (,) even at high speeds and when the strip is thin. To that end, the deflection cups (,) have channels (,) whose outlet openings (,) are located in the cup area and the channels (,) are connected to a medium supply system.

Strip winder

A planarity measuring roller is constructed as a loop lifter which is adjustable relative to a rolled strip. The loop lifter includes a plurality of measuring zones located next to one another over the width of the rolled strip. Each measuring zone includes a rotatably mounted individual measuring roller which is pivotable in a clockwise direction and interacts with a force measuring device. Each measuring roller is mounted in a pivotable housing-like lever frame. The pivot point of each lever frame, the point of rotation of the corresponding measuring roller and a force introduction point of the force measuring device arranged underneath of the pivot point of the lever frame form an approximately isosceles triangle.

The lower drive roll is mounted in the frame, and with reference to the upper drive roll which is connected to the swing arm, so as to be capable of performing adjusting and swinging movements. The respective housings of the lower drive roll are connected to hydraulically operated swing cylinders and position indicator devices. When the pressure control is operative the contact force at the rolls is a function of the prevailing hydraulic pressure. The apparatus also allows automatic zeroing of the drive roll gap.
