A biopsy device includes a sample-receiving device with a cavity configured to receive at least one tissue sample. The sample-receiving device is movable between a first position and a second position. A liquid supply unit is configured to supply a flushing liquid. The liquid supply unit is operatively connected to the cavity of the sample-receiving device when the sample-receiving device is in the second position, and the liquid supply unit is disconnected from the cavity of the sample-receiving device when the sample-receiving device is not in the second position.

Tissue sample flushing system for biopsy device

A method of operating a biopsy device includes providing a hollow needle having a longitudinal axis; moving a sample-receiving device received in the hollow needle from a retracted position to an extended position to expose a cavity in the sample-receiving device, the cavity configured to receive a tissue sample; displacing the hollow needle in a distal direction relative to the sample-receiving device to sever tissue received by the cavity of the sample-receiving device; moving a toothed flexible member along the longitudinal axis to move the sample-receiving device in the hollow needle from the extended position to the retracted position, the toothed flexible member having a proximal portion that extends proximal to the proximal end of the hollow needle; and receiving the proximal portion of the toothed flexible member in a helical coiling-up groove of a housing element when the sample-receiving device is moved to the retracted position.

Transport system for biopsy device

A method for operating a biopsy device to acquire at least one tissue sample from a body of a living being, including retracting a sample-receiving device through a hollow needle to a sample removal position, a tissue sample being simultaneously transported to the sample removal position by the sample-receiving device; operatively connecting a liquid supply unit to a cavity of the sample-receiving device when the sample-receiving device is at the sample removal position; and delivering a lateral flow of a flushing liquid from the liquid supply unit to the cavity of the sample-receiving device to facilitate a lateral tissue sample ejection from the cavity.

A biopsy device includes a hollow needle, and a sample-receiving device that is movable in the hollow needle. A power-driven element having a motor is provided. A transport device is drivably coupled to the motor. The transport device includes a toothed flexible member drivably engaged with a drive gear. The toothed flexible member has a distal portion coupled to the sample-receiving device. The toothed flexible member is configured to move the sample-receiving device in the hollow needle between an extended position and a retracted position. The toothed flexible member has a proximal portion that extends proximal to the proximal end of the hollow needle. A housing element has a helical coiling-up groove configured to accommodate the proximal portion of the toothed flexible member when the sample-receiving device is retracted to the retracted position.

Microphone assembly

The present invention relates to a receiver module adapted to be positioned in an ear canal. The receiver module comprises a receiver having a receiver housing and expansible arrangement surrounding at least part of the receiver housing, the expansible arrangement having a first opening aligned with an output port of the receiver housing so as to allow for generated acoustic waves to propagate away from the receiver module and into the ear canal, the receiver module further comprising elastic encapsulation material partly encircling the expansible arrangement, the elastic encapsulation material being adapted to provide, in an expanded state of the expansible arrangement, a second opening aligned with the output port of the receiver housing so as to allow for the generated outgoing acoustic waves to propagate away from the receiver module and into the ear canal.

Balloon encapsulated direct drive

The present invention relates to a hearing aid, which allows a hearing aid user to discretely operate his/her hearing aid by applying a force to a portion of the ear carrying the hearing aid. A number of different functions of the hearing aid, such as turning a battery supply on/off, adjusting a volume control, selecting a particular pre-programmed listening program, etc., may be provided in a hearing aid according to the present invention&#x2014;all without directly engaging the hearing aid or switches or potentiometers thereof. Furthermore, if the hearing aid is adapted for use within the ear canal, the present invention may provide user assistance so to allow simple and convenient removal of the aid from the ear canal.

Hearing aid adapted for discrete operation

The present invention relates to an electromechanical roller-key assembly of simple and robust construction. The assembly may be integrated in electronic equipment and generate digital control signals in response to an instantaneous change in angular position of a user-operated roller. The roller-key assembly according to the present invention is suitable for being manufactured with very small outer dimensions and with fewer and simpler mechanical parts compared to prior art roller-key assemblies, thereby making the roller-key assembly suitable for a simplified and automated factory assembly.
