A longitudinally adjustable connecting rod for a piston engine, where the connecting rod includes a first connecting rod end for receiving a piston pin and a second connecting rod end for receiving a crankshaft journal, where the distance between the piston pin and the crankshaft journal is adjustable in the longitudinal direction (A) of the connecting rod by way of a hydraulic control device with a hydraulic control valve. The hydraulic control valve comprises a control cylinder and a control slide which is guided in a slidable manner in the control cylinder and which can be pressurized, and at least one outlet valve which can be actuated by the control slide. The control slide comprises a control piston which is arranged on the end face, with a control pressure surface which can be subjected to the hydraulic control pressure and which defines a control pressure chamber in the control cylinder. The use of such a longitudinally adjustable connecting rod with a hydraulic control device in a piston engine as well as a corresponding piston engine is also provided.

A length-adjustable connecting rod for an internal combustion engine, where the connecting rod includes at least one switchable outlet valve for opening and closing a pressure chamber, where the outlet valve comprises a valve body and a closing body that is operatively connected to the valve body, and a closing mechanism is present acting upon the closing body for directly moving the closing body and indirectly moving the valve body from a closed to an open position or vice versa. Such an outlet valve is to be configured to be operable. For this purpose, this closing body has a mass which is smaller than the volume defined by the envelope contour of the closing body multiplied by the density of steel (7.85 g/mm). The use of such a closing body for a respective length-adjustable connecting rod is also provided.

A length-adjustable connecting rod for an internal combustion engine, comprises a first connecting rod member, a second connecting rod member and at least one cylinder-piston assembly for adjusting the first connecting rod member relative to the second connecting rod member. The cylinder-piston assembly can be actuated by way of a hydraulic adjustment mechanism, where the hydraulic adjustment mechanism comprises at least one oil filter in order to filter the engine oil of the internal combustion engine flowing into the cylinder-piston assembly. The invention further relates to an internal combustion engine with such a length-adjustable connecting rod and the use of such a cylinder-piston assembly for a length-adjustable connecting rod of an internal combustion engine.

A link chain has alternating inner and outer chain links connected by a chain articulation, having a direction of motion, wherein each inner chain link has at least one inner plate, and each outer chain link has at least two outer plates and two chain link pins connecting these plates, each pin being rotationally fixed in a pin opening of the associated outer plate and extending through a link opening of the associated inner chain link to form a chain articulation. The inner and/or outer chain links have plate backs contactable with a tensioning rail or guide rail. A forward region of the plate backs in the direction of motion of a part of the inner and/or outer plates extends at an angle to a plane projected between the center lines of the pin openings or link openings. The vertex of the angle points away from the direction of motion.

A method for producing high-performance chain link plates with a link plate pitch T, comprises: clocked feeding of a sheet metal band with a feed length V per cycle, pre-punching at least two chain link plate blanks arranged in succession, re-cutting at least one chain link plate blank, wherein at least the still connected head areas of the chain link plate blanks arranged in succession are excepted from the re-cutting process separating the connected head areas of chain link plate blanks arranged in succession, wherein the feed length V is smaller than 2.1&#xd7;T and the upper and/or lower side of the head areas connected to each other is/are provided at least partially with a concave run by a punching process substantially adjacent to the end face produced later. The invention relates to a tensioning rail for a chain drive with a support body which is pivotable about a center of rotation and which has a guide channel, which can be placed in contact with a chain, and a pressing region which can be acted on with pressure by a tensioning piston, wherein the pressing region bridges the guide channel at least in regions by forming a peripherally closed guide channel section, wherein the pressing region is formed in one piece with the support body.

The present invention relates to a tensioning rail or a guide rail for tensioning and/or guiding a drive chain, comprising an opening for receiving a retaining bolt and a retaining bolt which can be inserted into the opening, wherein a lock device working between the retaining bolt and the opening is provided with a lock projection at the opening and a lock recess at the retaining bolt or vice versa, which lock device secures the retaining bolt in a mounting position relative to the opening and at least temporarily releases the retaining bolt in order to move it to a fixing position.

The present invention relates to a tensioner, in particular a tensioner for a driving chain of an internal combustion engine, comprising a tensioning plunger which is axially movably guided in a plunger bore of a plunger reception means and an adjuster for readjusting the shift of the operating range of the tensioning plunger caused by wear. The adjuster comprises a hydraulic adjusting element and a closable pressure chamber provided on the bottom of the plunger bore. The adjusting element delimits the pressure chamber against the plunger bore and is axially movably guided in said plunger bore.

A method of producing a movable tensioning element of a tensioning device for tensioning flexible drive means, in particular for timing chain drives of internal combustion engines, the tensioning element having at least a tensioning piston and a tensioning rail made of a plastic material, with the tensioning rail being arranged on a tensioning end of the tensioning piston. A correspondingly implemented tensioning element as well as a tensioning device including such a tensioning element is provided. The method of producing the movable tensioning element includes placing the tensioning piston into an injection mold suitable for producing the tensioning rail; injecting the plastic material into the injection mold; encompassing the tensioning piston by the plastic material in certain areas thereof; and letting the plastic material solidify under formation of a positive connection between the tensioning piston and the tensioning rail.
