The invention relates to a fuel injection device () for a compression-ignition engine, comprising a first storage unit () which can be supplied with fuel by at least one high-pressure pump (), the first storage unit () being arranged preferably inside the high-pressure pump (), a first connecting line () from the first storage unit () to a second storage unit (), and a second connecting line () from the second storage unit () to a fuel injector ().

Fuel injection device

The invention relates to a fuel-pumping device () for a fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine with a large high-pressure pump () and a small high-pressure pump () arranged in parallel, wherein fuel can be pumped by the large high-pressure pump () and by the small high-pressure pump () from a low-pressure region () into a high-pressure region (). The high-pressure region () is connected to at least one injector (). A control device () is provided, which can be used to conduct the entire pump output of the large high-pressure pump () or the small high-pressure pump () into the low-pressure region () via a discharge line ().

Fuel-pumping device for an internal combustion engine, and a method for pumping fuel in a fuel-pumping device

A fuel injector includes an injector housing, a longitudinally movable nozzle needle, and a force sensing element. The injector housing defines a nozzle chamber, a pressure chamber, and a measuring chamber. The nozzle chamber is configured to be supplied with pressurized fuel via a feed line formed in the injector housing. The pressure chamber is configured to be hydraulically connected to the feed line. The nozzle needle is disposed in the nozzle chamber and is configured to open and to close at least one spray hole. The force sensing element is disposed in the measuring chamber and is configured to detect a pressure in the pressure chamber. The measuring chamber is separated from the pressure chamber by a diaphragm-like intermediate wall. The force sensing element supports the intermediate wall.

Fuel injector

In a method for testing and repairing an injector for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, wherein the injector includes a nozzle, a restrictor plate, and a control valve, and a nozzle clamping nut which holds together said parts and by way of which said parts are fastened to an injector body of the injector. The functional components&#x2014;nozzle, restrictor plate and control valve&#x2014;are separated from the injector body. A connection piece serves to connect the functional components to a test bench is screwed to the functional components with the aid of the nozzle clamping nut to form an injector module. The injector module is connected to a test bench and subjected to testing, and afterwards optionally repairing.

Method for testing and repairing a fuel injector

In a method for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, the fuel is fed by at least one prefeed pump from a tank to at least one high-pressure pump and the high-pressure fuel fed by the high-pressure pump is supplied to the injector, wherein the injector has an injection nozzle with an axially movable nozzle needle protruding into a control chamber which can be fed with fuel under pressure and whose pressure is controlled by a control valve which opens or closes at least one inflow or outflow duct for fuel. Between the prefeed pump and the high-pressure pump, a partial volume of the fuel is branched off as a flushing volume and supplied to a flushing channel of the injector, wherein the flushing volume is directly supplied to the control valve such that the flushing volume flows at least partially through the control valve and preferably mixes with the fuel from the inflow or outflow duct, respectively.

Method and device for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine

In a device for driving a piston pump, including at least one cam () mounted on a camshaft () and cooperating with the pump piston (), or a component arranged between the cam () and the pump piston (), to generate a reciprocating movement of the pump piston (), wherein the cam () has a cam elevation curve () with a first section for the upward stroke and a second section for the downward stroke, the cam elevation curve (), departing from a shape substantially corresponding to that of a sine wave (), is modified in a manner that, in comparison to the shape of a sine wave (), an increase in the piston acceleration occurs at the beginning of the upward stroke and a decrease of the piston deceleration occurs at the end of the upward stroke.

Device for driving a piston pump

A method for controlling the temperature of an injector of an injection system for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine during the standstill of the internal combustion engine involves branching off a partial amount of the fuel as flush volume between a pre-supply pump and a high-pressure pump; conducting it through a heat exchanger for heating the fuel; and feeding the heated fuel to a high-pressure fuel storage (inside the injector) so that the flush volume flows through the high-pressure fuel storage to prevent fuel from solidifying.
