The present invention provides a hybrid DC circuit breaker, wherein the hybrid DC circuit breaker comprises: a mechanical switch connected in a first current branch; and a semiconductor switch and a forced resonant injection circuit connected in a second current branch, wherein the forced resonant injection circuit comprises a first terminal and a second terminal, the first terminal of the forced resonant injection circuit is connected to one end of the semiconductor switch, and the second terminal of the forced resonant injection circuit and the other end of the semiconductor switch are connected to two ends of the mechanical switch; wherein, when the mechanical switch is in a process of switching off, the semiconductor switch is controlled to be switched on, and at the same time the forced resonant injection circuit is controlled to inject to the mechanical switch a gradually increasing injection current in a direction opposite to that of a current in the mechanical switch, so that the current in the mechanical switch gradually decreases to zero and the current is commutated from the first current branch to the second current branch in a predetermined commutation time. The hybrid DC circuit breaker of the present invention can safely and reliably switch off a fault and load currents in either direction.

Hybrid DC circuit breaker

A circuit breaker for use in medium voltage applications includes: a housing; a first contact arranged on an end of a first contact stem that extends fixedly through the housing; a second contact arranged on an end of a second contact stem that extends axially and is movable through the housing. The circuit breaker further includes a moving device for moving the second contact between a closed position in contact with the first contact and an open position spaced apart from the first contact. A mass of the second contact is less than a mass of the first contact. The moving device includes a closing mechanism for urging the second contact to the closed position and an opening mechanism for urging the second contact to the open position. The circuit breaker further includes a reconditioning power source and a controller for providing a reconditioning current.

Circuit breaker

A circuit breaker having a movable tulip contact and a vacuum interrupter together connecting a first terminal to a second terminal of the circuit breaker. The tulip contact has a first end having contact fingers removably attached to a stationary contact of the first terminal, and a second end that is electrically connected to the second terminal. The vacuum interrupter has a first electrode assembly that is electrically connected to the first terminal, and a second electrode assembly that is electrically connected to the second terminal. The tulip contact and stationary contact provide a first conductive path from the first terminal to the second terminal when the tulip contact is connected to the stationary contact. The vacuum interrupter provides a second conductive path from the first terminal to the second terminal when the vacuum interrupter is in a closed position.

Circuit breaker using multiple connectors

A vacuum interrupter assembly is provided. The vacuum interrupter assembly includes an operating mechanism, a vacuum chamber including a number of bellows assemblies, a conductor assembly including a first contact assembly and a second contact assembly, the first contact assembly including a stem and a contact member, the first contact assembly stem including an elongated body with a proximal first end, a medial portion, and a distal second end. The first contact assembly stem body has a reduced length. The first contact assembly stem body having a reduced length generates less heat and electrical resistance.

Vacuum circuit interrupter

A retaining clip is for a vacuum interrupter. The vacuum interrupter includes a tubular ceramic member, a tubular shield member, and a pair of separable contacts. The shield member is disposed internal with respect to the ceramic member. The separable contacts are disposed internal with respect to the shield member. The retaining clip comprises: a base mounted on the ceramic member; and at least one flexible arm extending from the base. The flexible arm engages the shield member in order to retain the shield member on the ceramic member.
