A hearing assistive device comprises a multi-microphone system for providing a processed input signal. The multi-microphone system comprises a multitude of microphones for picking up sound from an environment; and a beamformer filter configured to. The hearing assistive device further comprises an attachment element configured to fix the hearing assistive device to the body or clothes of a person. The multi-microphone system is configurable to operate in at least two modes in dependence of a mode control signal, A) a directional mode and B) an omni-directional mode wherein said multi-microphone system is configured to provide said processed input signal as a substantially directional signal, and as a substantially omni-directional signal, respectively. The attachment element is configured to provide an electric signal indicative of a current state of the attachment element. The hearing assistive device further comprises a mode controller for providing said mode control signal in dependence of said electric signal indicative of a current state of the attachment element.

A hearing aid system configured to compensate for a hearing impairment of a use comprises A) a wearable device adapted for being worn by the user and comprising a1) an input stage comprising at least one input transducer for converting sound around the user to at least one electric input signal representing said sound, and a2) an input stage for providing stimuli representative of a processed version of said least one electric input signal to said user, said stimuli being perceivable by said user as sound; and B) a non-wearable device comprising b1) a processor, and b2) a power supply interface for providing power to the processor. The wearable device and the non-wearable device comprise respective transceiver circuitry for establishing a low latency wireless audio communication link between them. The processor of the non-wearable device comprises an audio processor configured to process said at least one electric input signal, or a signal originating therefrom, to at least partially compensate for the hearing impairment of the user and to provide said processed version thereof. The power supply interface of the non-wearable device is electrically connected to an electricity network. Thereby an improved processing power of a hearing aid may be provided. The invention may e.g. be used in flexible hearing aid systems with a situation-dependent configurable processing power.

Hearing system comprising a hearing aid and a processing device

A sound capture device configured to be worn by a person and/or to be located on a surface is configured to pick up target sound from a target sound source s. The sound capture device comprises a) an input unit providing a multitude of electric input signals, each comprising a target signal component and a noise signal component; b) a directional noise reduction system comprising a beamformer unit coupled to said multitude of input signals and configured to provide an estimate of the target sound s. The beamformer unit comprises b1) target maintaining, reference beamformer providing a current reference signal; and b2) a target cancelling beamformer providing a current target cancelling sign. The directional noise reduction system is configured to operate in at least two modes in dependence of a mode control signal, 1) in a directional mode and 2) in a non-directional, omni-directional mode. The sound capture device further comprises c) antenna and transceiver circuitry for establishing an audio link to another device, and to transmit said estimate of the target sound s to said another device, and d) a mode controller for determining said mode control signal in dependence of said current reference signal and said current target cancelling signal. A method of operating a sound capture device is further disclosed.

Portable device comprising a directional system

A hearing aid for comprises an ITE-module and a BTE-module. The ITE module is adapted for being located at or in an ear canal of a user and comprises functional elements for providing a normal function of the hearing aid. The BTE-module is adapted for being located at or behind an ear of the user and comprises a rechargeable battery for providing electric energy to the ITE-module. The hearing aid further comprises a connecting part for mechanically and electrically connecting the ITE-module and the BTE-module. The connecting part comprises at least two electric conductors connected to the rechargeable battery and to the ITE-module to allow provision of electric energy to the ITE-module. The BTE-module may comprise a wireless interface to another device.

Modular hearing aid

The invention relates to an audio assist system, comprising a hearing aid, an external handheld device and an audio system comprising a Bluetooth audio transmitter, wherein the hearing aid comprises a Bluetooth receiver. The hearing aid and the external handheld device are temporarily connected via a wireless data link, and both the audio system and the external handheld device each comprise an infrared receiver and/or transmitter for establishing an at least unidirectional IR link between the external handheld device and the audio system. The external handheld device is adapted to transmit an automatic Bluetooth pairing trigger signal to the hearing aid via the wireless data link, when the external handheld device receives and/or transmits an IR signal via the IR link from or to the audio system, respectively, and the hearing aid is configured to perform Bluetooth pairing with the Bluetooth audio transmitter in response to receiving the automatic Bluetooth pairing trigger signal from said external handheld device.

The application relates to: A hearing system comprising first and second hearing aid systems, each being configured to be worn by first and second persons and adapted to exchange audio data between them. The application further relates to a method of operating a hearing system. The object of the present application is to provide improved perception of a (target) sound source for a wearer of a hearing device (e.g. a hearing aid or a headset) in a difficult listening situation. The problem is solved in that each of the first and second hearing aid systems comprising This has the advantage of eliminating the need for a partner microphone while still providing a boost in SNR of a target speaker. The invention may e.g. be used for the hearing aids, head sets, active ear protection devices or combinations thereof.

Peer to peer hearing system

An external microphone array is configured to be used with a hearing aid and comprises a number of microphones configured to detect one or more sound signals from a sound source and means for wirelessly sending the detected sound signal to at least one hearing aid. The external microphone array comprises means for automatically determining the direction of the sound source either by: a) receiving a wireless signal transmitted from a remote control; b) by receiving acoustic signals picked up by the hearing aid(s) and by further comparing the signals with signals received by the external microphone array. The external microphone array may e.g. take the form of a sphere, a hemi-sphere or a neckband.

The invention relates to a system comprising a master device and at least one slave device, e.g. two slave devices, the master device comprising a transmitter including a Tx-inductive coil, and the slave device comprising a receiver including an Rx-inductive coil. The invention further relates to a method and use. The object of the present invention is to solve one or more problems of the prior art, e.g. economize on power consumption for a wireless communications link. The problem is solved in that the master and slave devices are adapted to establish a uni-directional wireless link for forwarding an upstream signal from the master to the slave device via the inductive coupling between the Tx- and Rx-induction coils when the master and slave devices are located within a certain distance from each other, wherein the master device is adapted to provide that the upstream signal comprises a payload signal and at least one control signal, the at least one control signal is/are embedded in the payload signal and repeated according to a predefined scheme, and wherein the at least one control signal represents an intended current setting of an operational parameter of the slave device. An advantage of the invention is that it provides a scheme for wirelessly controlling and changing the settings of a slave device from a master device using a uni-directional link from master to slave device. The invention may e.g. be used for applications involving wireless communication between devices at least one of which is a low-power (e.g. battery driven) device, e.g. a portable device, e.g. a listening device, such as a hearing instrument or a pair of hearing instruments.
