A method for controlling movement of an imaging device in vivo, the method comprising the steps of providing an imaging device having a longitudinal axis and a magnetic component, said device to be inserted into a patient's body; providing a rotating magnetic field outside the patient's body; and advancing the rotating magnetic filed along the patient's body in a desired direction.

System and method for magnetically maneuvering an in vivo device

A magnet arrangement for generating an NMR-compatible homogeneous permanent magnetic field is described. The invention has two permanent magnets, referred to hereafter as main magnets, which each have a magnet pole surface area. The magnet pole surface areas are situated parallel and at a distance to one another, so that the main magnets define an interspace on both sides through their magnet surface areas. The magnet pole surfaces of the main magnets each have a magnetic polarization opposite to one another. At least two annular permanent magnets are used, which are referred to hereafter as ring magnets, are situated coaxially to one another and jointly radially bound a ring inner chamber. The ring magnets are situated relative to the two main magnets in so that the ring inner chamber at least regionally encloses the interspace, and the magnetic fields of the main and ring magnets are constructively superimposed.

Magnet arrangement for generating an NMR-compatible homogeneous permanent magnetic field

The invention relates to an imaging NMR device and method in which an object is exposed to a stationary polarization field Band an electromagnetic alternating field. Nuclear resonant processes are induced in said object detected as test signals, and are visually represented. The stationary magnetic polarization field has at least one spatially limited volume region inside said object. The spatially limited volume region has a greater magnetic flux density than the remaining region of said object so that said nuclear resonant processes are induced solely in said spatially limited volume region. The test signals from said nuclear resonant processes induced inside said limited volume region are detected and displayed. The spatial position of said limited volume region () is changed at least once in a controlled manner and said test signals are detected again from said positionally modified volume region.

NMR imaging method and device focusing magnetic flux to a focal point in the imaging volume region

A probe head for NMR measurements as well as a method of operating this probe head is disclosed. The probe head includes a support body that carries a solenoid coil as measuring coil, as well as a feed line towards the solenoid coil, via which a sample material can be introduced into a measuring volume surrounded by the solenoid coil. The feed line is configured for receiving and conveying sample containers in the probe head. The probe head allows for an automated measurement of different samples, specifically of solid samples.
