A fluidic chip device configured for processing a fluid, wherein the fluidic chip device comprises a plurality of layers laminated to one another, wherein at least a part of the layers comprises a patterned section of an alternating sequence of bars and fluidic channels for conducting the fluid under pressure, the patterned section being configured for being displaceable in response to the pressure, and a pressure detector responding to the displacement of the patterned section by generating a detector signal being indicative of a value of the pressure.

A fluidic device, the fluidic device comprising a planar fluidic conduit for conducting a fluid, wherein the fluidic conduit has a plurality of fluidic disturbance features located along at least a section of the fluidic conduit for disturbing a laminar flow of the fluid along the section.

A mixer for mixing a fluid having a property varying along a flow direction of the fluid includes an inlet configured for receiving an inlet flow, an outlet configured for providing an outlet flow, and a plurality of flow channels coupled between the inlet and the outlet. The mixer also includes a flow distributor for distributing the inlet flow into the plurality of flow channels so that each flow channel receives a partial flow from the inlet flow, and a flow combiner for combining the partial flows from the plurality of flow channels to the outlet flow. Each flow channel has a first flow section having a hydraulic resistance substantially representing a hydraulic resistance of the flow channel. One or more of the flow channels each have a second flow section coupled in series with the first flow section of the respective flow channel.

A frame for a microfluidic chip may be used together with a laboratory apparatus. The frame is adapted at least for one of the following features: receiving the microfluidic chip; protecting the microfluidic chip; and, positioning the microfluidic chip relative to the frame. The microfluidic chip is movable relative to the frame.

Microfluidic chip frame

An assembly for handling a fluid, comprising a valve and a controller. The valve has at least one revolving valve element and a coupling device. The coupling device comprises at least one port coupled to a flow path and is adapted for interacting with said at least one revolving valve element in order to control a fluid flow through said at least one port using a relative valve position between the revolving valve element and the coupling device. The controller is adapted for controlling the relative valve position based on at least one of a current and a previous measurement of an amount of the fluid flow dependent on the relative valve position.

A microfluidic connection comprising a carrier element having a microfluidic channel fixed between a feeding element and a backplate. The feeding element comprises a channel adopted for feeding a fluid into the microfluidic channel of the carrier element. The backplate comprises a recess arranged opposing the feeding element and comprising an elastic thrust piece.

A handling unit that comprises a first clamping element and a second clamping element, and an actuation mechanism adapted for driving at least one of the clamping elements. When the at least one of the clamping elements is driven to a first position, a microfluidic device may be placed between the clamping elements or taken out of the clamping elements, and when the at least one of the clamping elements is driven to a second position, the microfluidic device is gripped and fastened by the clamping elements.

Handling unit for microfluidic devices

A sample injector for a high-pressure liquid chromatography system that has an injector needle, which is freely movable within a three dimensional sample space. The needle is attached to a means of transport, which moves in the Y-, Y- and Z-axes. The needle can be moved to various sample intake positions on a sample tray and to the injection position where the sample is injected into the capillary system. The means of transport comprises a mechanism called X-carriage, which is movable in horizontal direction. The X-carriage has jib attached that performs the vertical movement. The jib a robot arm, which can rotate for .+-.180.degree. in a horizontal plane. The injection needle is attached to the end of the robot arm. The needle is connected with a metering means, through a flexible connection capillary comprising a glass capillary and a plastic coating. The combination of known high-pressure injection systems with a flexible capillary has the advantage that even the most minute sample can be injected in the analysis cycle without losses.
