A brake system for a motor vehicle includes an electrohydraulic partial brake system with hydraulically actuated wheel brakes and an electromechanical partial brake system with electromechanically actuated wheel brakes. The brake system includes two control units and two energy supplies which are independent of one another, a first one of the control units being configured to control the electromechanical partial brake system, and a second one of the control units being configured to control the electrohydraulic partial brake system. The first control unit is supplied with energy exclusively by way of a first one of the energy supplies and the second control unit is supplied with energy exclusively by way of a second one of the energy supplies.

Brake system for a motor vehicle

A method for controlling a brake system in the case of leaks is provided. The brake system has a mechanically actuable master brake cylinder, which is connected to a first partial reservoir of a brake fluid vessel, and has an electric linear actuator, which is connected to a second partial reservoir of the brake fluid vessel. The master brake cylinder and the linear actuator are connected via an electrically closable circuit isolating valve. In order to protect the brake fluid, in the event of a leak during a transition to a standby state, the linear actuator is activated to take a brake fluid volume out of the first partial reservoir via the open circuit isolating valve and to displace it into the second partial reservoir.

A method for operating a braking system of a vehicle, wherein the braking system comprises a primary hydraulic braking system and a brake actuation unit hydraulically decoupled from the primary braking system. The brake actuation unit comprises at least two sensor arrangements which are configured to detect, independently of one another, actuation information of the brake actuation unit describing a brake request. The method comprises determination of a first actuation information by a first of the sensor arrangements, determination of a second actuation information by a second of the sensor arrangements, checking whether the respective determined actuation information is valid, and if the actuation information is valid, checking whether the determined items of actuation information are mutually plausible, and implementation of the brake request according to the actuation information and/or issue of a warning and/or performance of a predefined braking maneuver by the braking system depending on the validity and plausibility of the actuation information.

A motor vehicle brake system having at least four hydraulically actuatable wheel brakes, including an electrically actuatable inlet valve for each wheel brake. A master brake cylinder actuable by a brake pedal is separably hydraulically connected via an isolation valve to a brake supply line to which the inlet valves are connected, and an electrically controllable pressure-providing device having a pressure space hydraulically connected to the brake supply line. An electrically actuatable circuit isolation valve inline with the brake supply line. With the circuit isolation valve closed the brake supply line is hydraulically separated into first and second line sections. The first line section connected to two of the inlet valves, and the second line section connected to the remaining inlet valves. The pressure space is hydraulically connected to the second line section. The circuit isolation valve is normally open, wherein the pressure chamber of the master brake cylinder is connected to the first line section via the isolation valve.

Brake system for motor vehicles and method for operating a brake system

A hydraulic unit for a motor vehicle brake system operating on the recirculation principle, in which each brake circuit has in the region of the hydraulic unit a prefilling location which opens into the pump suction conduit between the pressure-retaining valve and the change-over valve for the purpose of receiving brake fluid. The hydraulic unit can thereby be prefilled with lower complexity and cost in terms of time and processes prior to installation in the vehicle.

The invention solves the problem of supplying fresh fluid, in particular in electrohydraulic brake systems, to all areas of the conduit systems that are not reached in a conventional brake fluid change. The invention discloses a method for determining the air content of the brake fluid in a hydraulic braking system. This method also permits determining the quality of the bleeding of the braking system. The principle of the method is a comparison of the volume intake with the respectively achieved pressure. The correlation is compared to nominal values. As the volume intake is determined by the clearance, the system is set by means of a pre-actuation to an initial condition before each actual measurement.

The invention relates to an electrohydraulic assembly for an electronically controlled brake system with an accommodating member which includes accommodating bores for electrohydraulic valves, accommodating bores for hydraulic supply devices and an accommodating bore for at least one roller bearing, and with hydraulic channels and pressure fluid ports, as well as with an electric motor comprising a rotor with a shaft that is mounted with the roller bearing in the associated accommodating bore in the accommodating member and used to drive the supply devices, and with an electronic control unit being connected to the electric motor by means of a plug penetrating a through-bore in the accommodating member. The objective is to provide a safe and comfortable operating characteristics even in consideration of extreme environmental influences. This object is achieved because the electrohydraulic assembly includes at least two brake circuits and at least two supply devices per brake circuit, and because the accommodating bores for the supply devices are arranged on top of each other along a first imaginary plane that extends in parallel to the shaft.

Electrohydraulic assembly for an electronically controlled brake system

The present invention relates to a hydraulic unit for an automotive vehicle brake system according to the recirculation principle, wherein each brake system in the area of the hydraulic unit includes a prefilling location which opens into the pump suction conduit to take up brake fluid. Thus, filling of the hydraulic unit can be simplified by prefilling of the secondary circuit in the vehicle.

The present invention relates to a process of bleeding and filling a slip-controlled hydraulic dual-circuit brake system for automotive vehicles which includes pressure modulation valves and at least one pump, a bleeding device and a filling device, and the bleeding device is connected to at least one bleeder valve of a wheel brake and the filling device is arranged on the braking pressure generator. Bleeding of the wheel brakes is executed in two sequences of operation: in a first sequence of operation, the wheel brakes of the front axle and the rear axle are pre-bled by a cyclic actuation of the braking pressure generator, and in the second sequence of operation the main bleeding and filling of the front-wheel and rear-wheel brakes is executed by actuating cycles of the braking pressure generator, the pressure modulation valves and start of operation of the pump.

Process for bleeding an anti-slip, hydraulic, twin-circuit braking system for motor vehicles and device for implementing it

The present invention relates to a method of bubble-free filling of brake fluid into a hydraulic automotive vehicle brake system, which is equipped with slip control and/or automatic braking intervention, the pump of which, under operating conditions, delivers brake fluid from the secondary circuit into the primary circuit according to the return delivery principle. In this arrangement, exclusively the primary circuit is bled and filled with undersaturated brake fluid.
