The disclosure relates to compositions for altering the color of keratin fibers and methods of using the compositions. The compositions comprise (a) a bonding system comprising: (i) at least one first bonding agent chosen from citric acid and/or salts thereof, and (ii) at least one second bonding agent chosen from amino acids, amino sulfonic acids, salts thereof, or combinations thereof; (b) at least one fatty alcohol; (c) at least one fatty acid; (d) at least one alkyl polyglucoside; (e) at least one alkalizing agent; and (f) at least one solvent. The compositions can further comprise one or more oxidation dyes, couplers, oxidizing agents, or combinations thereof.

The disclosure relates to systems for altering the color of the hair, comprising a pre-treatment composition comprising at least one amine-based compound and a dyeing composition comprising at least one microtube-dye composite. The instant disclosure relates to methods and kits for artificially coloring hair and improving the durability of the artificially colored hair. The methods include: (I) combining an antioxidant booster composition, a hair coloring base composition, and a developer composition to form an antioxidant-enriched hair coloring composition within 2 hours of application to the hair; (II) applying the antioxidant enriched hair coloring composition to the hair and allowing the antioxidant enriched hair coloring composition to remain on the hair for a period of time; and (III) rinsing the antioxidant enriched hair coloring composition from the hair. The antioxidant booster composition can be included in a kit with a hair coloring base composition and/or a developer composition, wherein the antioxidant booster composition, the coloring base composition, and the developer composition are separately contained.

Methods and kits comprising an antioxidant booster composition for improving color durability in artificially colored hair

The present disclosure relates to hair coloring agents and compositions, and methods for improving the quality and durability of color in artificially colored hair. The compositions employ divalent metal salts of inorganic acids, monovalent or divalent metal salts of organic acids, antioxidants, and colorants. Methods are described wherein hair is contacted with the compositions of the present disclosure, resulting in improved artificial color deposition, as well as improved quality and durability of the color in artificially colored hair.

The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for improving the quality and durability of color in artificially colored hair. The methods employ pre-color treatments containing divalent metal salts of inorganic acids and monovalent or divalent metal salts of organic acids (treatments to the hair prior to artificial coloring of hair) and optionally, post-color treatments containing silane compounds (treatments to the hair after artificial coloring of hair).
