A dosing system to dispense a predetermined quantity of a fluid medium comprises a digital signal processor control having an interface to emit a start signal and a stop signal and an interface to measure a sensor signal. A dispenser is provided that is triggered by the start signal and the stop signal and, in the interval between the two signals, dispenses a specific quantity of fluid, as well as a sensor unit which, triggered by the start signal, continuously measures the flow rate of the fluid fed to the dispenser and emits a sensor signal as a function of this flow rate. The digital signal processor control measures the sensor signal, determines the quantity of fluid dispensed by the dispenser from this signal and sends a stop signal to the dispenser when the quantity of fluid dispensed by the dispenser corresponds to the predetermined quantity of fluid.

The invention relates to a device to detect individual moving objects having very small dimensions. The device according to the invention comprises a photo electric sensor having at least one light beam transmitter and one light beam receiver, the objects that are to be measured moving through the optical path of the photo electric sensor, a first bundle of optical waveguides whose inputs are connected to the light beam transmitter and whose outputs are arranged in a row alongside each other, the light beams emitted by the outputs forming the optical path of the photo electric sensor, a second bundle of optical waveguides which are arranged in a row alongside each other whose inputs pick up the light beams emitted by the first bundle of optical waveguides and whose outputs are connected to the light beam receiver, and an evaluation unit which is coupled to the light beam transmitter and the light beam receiver and which registers a change in the received light intensity of the photo electric sensor produced by the objects passing through the optical path.

The invention relates to a device to detect and/or characterize individual moving objects having very small dimensions which comprises a photo electric sensor having at least one light beam emitter and one light beam receiver in which the objects that are to be measured move through the optical path of the photo electric sensor, a first number of optical waveguides whose inputs are connected to the light beam emitter, the light beams emitted by the outputs of the optical waveguides forming the optical path of the photo electric sensor, a second number of optical waveguides whose inputs pick up the light beams emitted by the optical waveguides and whose outputs are connected to the light beam receiver, the outputs of the optical waveguides and the inputs of the optical waveguides being arranged in the form of a ring on a common plane, and an evaluation unit which is coupled to the light beam receiver and records the change in light intensity of the photo electric sensor produced by the objects passing through the optic path.

The invention relates to a method to determine the volume of small, spherical moving objects in which the objects move through the optical path of a photo electric sensor that comprises at least one light beam transmitter and one light beam receiver, and the change in the light intensity at the light beam receiver caused by objects passing through the optical path is registered and converted into an electrical measurement signal by means of an evaluation unit. The invention is distinguished by the fact that before a measurement process, the amplitude of the electric measurement signal is calibrated to a previously determined average standard volume of the objects and during the measurement process, the volume of each measured object is determined using the change in amplitude of the measurement signal.
