A method for determining the viscosity of a medium with a Coriolis mass flowmeter having at last two measuring tubes through which a medium can flow, comprising: exciting the measuring tubes; and determining at least the viscosity of the medium by evaluation of measured values obtained from the measuring device. The measuring values comprise the amplitude of torsional oscillation reached, wherein the amplitude of torsional oscillation reached is evaluated for determining the viscosity of the medium at a set excitation intensity of the measuring device and using the damping coefficient of the medium.

Method of determining viscosity by exciting two measuring tubes using two actuators

A measuring transducer includes: a transducer housing with an inlet-side flow divider having exactly four flow openings and an outlet-side flow divider having exactly four flow openings; as well as exactly four, straight, measuring tubes connected to the flow dividers. Each of the four measuring tubes opens into one the flow openings of the inlet-side flow divider and into one the flow openings of the outlet-side flow divide. Additionally, the measuring transducer includes an electromechanical exciter mechanism for producing and/or maintaining mechanical oscillations of the measuring tubes such that the measuring tubes are excitable pairwise to execute opposite phase bending oscillations in a shared imaginary plane of oscillation.

Measuring transducer of vibration-type, as well as an in-line measuring device having such a measuring transducer

A measuring transducer comprising: a transducer housing, of which an inlet-side, housing end is formed by means of an inlet-side, flow divider having exactly four flow openings spaced, in each case, from one another and an outlet-side, housing end is formed by means of an outlet-side, flow divider having exactly four flow openings spaced, in each case, from one another; as well as exactly four, straight, measuring tubes connected to the flow dividers for guiding flowing medium along flow paths connected in parallel. The measuring transducer includes an electromechanical exciter mechanism for producing and/or maintaining mechanical oscillations of the four measuring tubes. The measuring tubes are excitable pairwise to execute opposite phase bending oscillations in, in each case, a shared imaginary plane of oscillation.

A measuring transducer of vibration type for registering, on the basis of the Coriolis principle, at least one measured variable of a medium flowing through a pipeline. The measuring transducer includes: a measuring tube, which is connectable with the pipeline via an inlet and an outlet, wherein the measuring tube includes a first measuring tube arc and a second measuring tube arc; an oscillation exciter for exciting oscillations of the measuring tube arcs; at least one oscillation sensor for registering resulting oscillations of the measuring tube arcs; and a transducer housing surrounding the measuring tube arcs. The measuring tube arcs are elastically coupled to the transducer housing. In this way, a robust and reliable measuring operation is guaranteed, which is little influenced by oscillatory in-couplings.

Measuring transducer of vibration type

The measurement transducer includes a transducer housing, which exhibits a plurality of natural oscillation modes, as well as at least one first flow tube held oscillatably in the transducer housing, vibrating at least at times, and conveying at least a portion of the medium to be measured. Additionally, the measurement transducer includes an electromechanical, especially electrodynamic, exciter arrangement acting on the at least one flow tube for producing and/or maintaining mechanical oscillations of the at least one flow tube, and a sensor arrangement reacting to movements of the flow tube, especially bending oscillations, for producing at least one oscillation measurement signal representing oscillations of the flow tube. Additionally, for improving the oscillation properties and, consequently, also the measurement accuracy of the measurement transducer, at least three coupling elements are provided for connecting the first and second flow tubes together at the inlet end, as well as at least three coupling elements for connecting the first and second flow tubes together at the outlet end. By using at least six coupling elements, it is possible to produce vibration-type measurement transducers of high measuring accuracy even at large nominal diameters of more than 150 mm, especially also while largely maintaining already established and proven forms of construction.

The measurement transducer includes: A measuring tube vibrating at least at times during operation and serving for the conveying of a medium, wherein the measuring tube communicates with a pipeline via an inlet tube piece at an inlet end and an outlet tube piece at an outlet end; a counteroscillator, which is affixed to the measuring tube on the inlet end to form a first coupling zone and affixed to the measuring tube on the outlet end to form a second coupling zone; and a first cantilever for producing bending moments in the inlet tube piece and coupled with the inlet tube piece and the measuring tube essentially rigidly in the area of the first coupling zone and having a center of mass lying in the region of the inlet tube piece, as well as a second cantilever for producing bending moments in the outlet tube piece and coupled essentially rigidly with the outlet tube piece and the measuring tube in the region of the second coupling zone and having a center of mass lying in the region of the outlet tube piece. The measurement transducer of the invention is especially suited also for measuring tubes having large nominal diameters of more than 50 mm.

A measuring transducer includes a transducer housing, as well as an internal part arranged in the transducer housing. The internal part includes at least one curved measuring tube vibrating, at least at times, during operation and serving for conveying the medium, as well as a counteroscillator affixed to the measuring tube on the inlet-side, accompanied by formation of a coupling zone, and to the measuring tube on the outlet-side, accompanied by the formation of a coupling zone. The internal part is held oscillatably in the transducer housing, at least by means of two connecting tube pieces, via which the measuring tube communicates during operation with the pipeline and which are so oriented with respect to one another, as well as with respect to an imaginary longitudinal axis of the measuring transducer, that the internal part can move during operation in the manner of a pendulum about the longitudinal axis. The measuring tube and the counteroscillator are additionally so embodied and so oriented with respect to one another that both a center of mass spaced from the imaginary longitudinal axis of the measuring tube, as well as also a center of mass of the counteroscillator spaced from the imaginary longitudinal axis, lie in a common region of the measuring transducer spanned by the imaginary longitudinal axis and the measuring tube, and that the center of mass of the measuring tube is spaced farther from the longitudinal axis than the center of mass of the counteroscillator.

Vibratory measurement transducer

The measurement transducer includes at least two oscillatably held transducer tubes vibrating, at least at times, during operation, of which at least one transducer tube serving to convey at least a volume portion of a medium to be measured, communicates with a pipeline; as well as at least one transducer element for converting electrical energy into mechanical and/or vice versa. The two transducer tubes are mechanically coupled together by means of at least one, inlet-side, coupling element and by means of at least one, outlet-side, coupling element in such a manner that both the inlet-side coupling element, as well as also the outlet-side coupling element, are subjected during operation repeatedly to deformations which correspond to vibrations of at least one of the two transducer tubes for converting electrical energy into mechanical, oscillatory energy and/or vice versa. The transducer element, especially a transducer element formed by means of a piezoelectric, deformation body, and at least one of the coupling elements, are, at least mediately, mechanically coupled together in such a manner that the transducer element executes, at least in part, oscillatory movements, which correspond with the repeated deformations at least of this coupling element.

The measuring transducer includes a transducer housing, as well as an internal part arranged in the transducer housing. The internal part includes at least one curved measuring tube vibrating, at least at times, during operation and serving for conveying the medium, as well as a counteroscillator affixed to the measuring tube on the inlet-side, accompanied by formation of a coupling zone, and to the measuring tube on the outlet-side, accompanied by the formation of a coupling zone. The internal part is held oscillatably in the transducer housing, at least by means of two connecting tube pieces, via which the measuring tube communicates during operation with the pipeline and which are so oriented with respect to one another, as well as with respect to an imaginary longitudinal axis of the measuring transducer, that the internal part can move during operation in the manner of a pendulum about the longitudinal axis. Counteroscillator of the measuring transducer of the invention is formed by means of two counteroscillator plates, of which a first counteroscillator plate is arranged on the left side of the measuring tube and a second counteroscillator plate is arranged on the right side of the measuring tube.

A measurement transducer includes a transducer housing, which exhibits a multiplicity of natural oscillation modes and at least a first measuring tube for conveying at least a volume fraction of the medium to be measured. The measuring tube is held to oscillation in the transducer housing and vibrator, at least at times. Also included is an electromechanical, exciter mechanism acting on the at least one measuring tube and a sensor arrangement reacting to movements, i.e. bending oscillations, of the measuring tube. Also included is a first support element fixed, i.e. directly, to the transducer housing and serving for the formation of essentially locationally fixed oscillation nodes in the transducer housing for suppressing or erasing at least one natural oscillation mode of the transducer housing. An outer oscillation system is formed by the transducer housing and at least the at least one support element and an inner oscillation system is formed by the at least one measuring tube, the medium at least instantaneously conveyed therein, and, at least in part, by the exciter mechanism and the sensor arrangement. The inner oscillation system, executes, at least at times during operation of the measurement transducer, mechanical oscillations, especially in the form of lateral oscillations.
