The invention relates to a foamable polymer composition comprising a polyolefin polymer which polyolefin polymer does not bear silane moieties and comprises 20 to 99.99 wt. % linear low density polyethylene, and a blowing agent in an amount of 0.01 to 3 wt. % based on the total foamable polymer composition, wherein the blowing agent consists of citric acid and/or derivatives of citric acid or mixtures thereof. Further the invention relates to a foamable polymer composition comprising a polyolefin polymer, and a blowing agent in an amount of 0.01 to 3 wt. % based on the total foamable polymer composition, wherein the blowing agent consists of expandable polymeric microspheres, and the composition does not comprise fluororesin. Further the invention relates to a foamed polymer composition obtained by foaming this foamable polymer composition. Further the invention relates to the use of the foamable composition or the foamed polymer composition for a layer of a cable and a cable comprising at least one layer which comprises the foamable polymer composition or the foamed polymer composition.

The present invention relates to a polyolefin composition with increased resistance to degradation caused by ClO-containing water and to a pipe or a fitting made of such a polyolefin composition. The polyolefin composition comprises a polyolefin base resin (A), an antioxidant (B) having a chroman-6-ol structure, and an antioxidant (C) having a phenolic structure and the molecule comprises at least one ester group. The present invention further relates to the use of the polyolefin composition for the production of a pipe or a fitting and to the use of the polyolefin composition for increasing the lifetime of a pipe or a fitting providing the polyolefin composition with resistance against degradation caused by contact with ClO-containing water.

The present invention provides a process for manufacturing polyethylene-diene-copolymer conducted in a plant including at least one compressor unit, at least one preheater unit downstream of the compressor unit and at least one reactor, in particular a reactor, downstream of the compressor unit and the preheater unit. The present invention deals with the use of pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene for transporting water containing chlorine dioxide. Cross-linked polyethylene has a resistance of more than 3500 hours against water treated with chlorine dioxide when tested according to a modified method of ASTM F2263-03. Especially, the pipes made of cross-linked polyethylene can be used for transporting drinking water which had been disinfected by using chlorine dioxide.
