A heat sink includes a body with an expansion chamber therein. The body is configured to receive heat from a heat source. The expansion chamber is configured to expand a working fluid from an inlet port to an outlet port of the heat sink. An immersion system includes a heat sink and a pressurizing mechanism for pressurizing the working fluid prior to the inlet port.

Systems and methods for two-phase cooling of electronic components

The discussion relates to busbars that are protected from unintentional contact. One example includes a liquid immersion tank and a protected automatic busbar assembly positioned in the liquid immersion tank. The protected automatic busbar assembly can include a conductor and a deployable protector biased over the conductor. The example can include a computer that includes a device controller and an electrical connector. The device controller can be configured to overcome the bias and cause the deployable protector to transition away from the conductor to allow the conductor to be engaged by the electrical connector to couple the computer to the conductor of the protected automatic busbar assembly.

A quick disconnect system includes a housing and a first connector of a quick disconnect configured to complementarily mate with a second connector of the quick disconnect. A pre-loaded biasing element is configured to provide a biasing force between the first connector and the housing. A method for mating a quick disconnect is also described. The method includes receiving a connecting force to mate a first connector of a quick disconnect in a housing with a second connector of the quick disconnect. When the connecting force is at least equal to or greater than a mating force value, the first connector is mated with the second connector. When the connecting force is greater than a pre-load value of a biasing element in the housing, the mated quick disconnect is moved relative to the housing while maintaining the connection of the mated quick disconnect.

Systems and methods for a floating quick disconnect in liquid cooling

A thermal management system includes a server computer and a shell defining an immersion chamber. The shell contacts the server computer along a bottom side and lateral walls of the chamber, and the immersion chamber has an opening on a top side. The shell is connected to the server computer and a portion of the server computer defines at least a portion of the immersion chamber.

Systems and methods for immersion-cooled datacenters

A data carrying cable to connect computing devices includes a first cable portion including a first conductor having a circular cross-section and a first gauge. A first port connector is connected to one end of the first cable portion. A second cable portion includes a second conductor having a circular cross-section and a second gauge that is different than the first gauge. Rack configurations provide increased storage device density without compromising cooling or immediate device availability. A device rack has a frame including posts which define an interior containing system board(s) with electronic device connectors. The system board is fixed relative to the frame, and the rack is devoid of sliding rails and cable management arms for the devices, thereby reducing rack weight and mechanical complexity. A vertical plenum within the rack between loaded system boards carries cooling air for the devices and may also permit use of a service robot to install or replace hot-pluggable hard disk drives or other devices, which can be arranged in columns. As one objective measure of the increased density provided, a connector density is at least a specified number of hundreds of mechanically and electronically releasably connectable electronic device connectors per cubic meter within the rack.
