A bioadhesive delivery catheter includes a manifold, a dual lumen tube, and a mixing member. The manifold includes a delivery device passage and an injection port. The tube is insertable into the delivery device passage and includes first and second lumens positioned side-by-side. The first lumen extends proximal of the second lumen within the delivery device passage, and the second lumen is in flow communication with the injection port. The mixing member is positioned between a proximal inlet of the injection port and the second lumen and is configured to help mix a bioadhesive material that is delivered through the injection port into the second lumen.

Bioadhesive delivery catheter manifold with mixing fixture and methods

A closure device operable to seal a vessel puncture and including a delivery member and a sealant material applicator. The delivery member is insertable through a tissue tract to the vessel puncture. The sealant material applicator is configured to supply a volume of sealant material to the delivery member and includes a housing, a plunger assembly, and at least one container. The housing includes at least first and second chambers, wherein the first chamber carries a first sealant component and the second chamber carries a second sealant component. The container is insertable into the first or second chamber and carries a third sealant component of the sealant material. The sealant material applicator creates flow communication between the container and at least one of the first and second chambers to mix the third sealant component with the first and second sealant components.

Sealant mixing containers for extra vascular bioadhesive delivery systems and methods

A sealant delivery device includes a delivery tube, a bioadhesive container, and an adapter. The delivery tube includes proximal and distal ends. The bioadhesive container holds a sealant activator and a sealant precursor separated from each other. The adapter is interposed between the delivery tube and the bioadhesive container. The adapter includes a first channel member that couples a first lumen of the delivery tube to the sealant activator, and a second channel member that couples the first lumen to the sealant precursor. The adapter provides separation of the sealant activator and the sealant precursor until a position distal of the bioadhesive container.

Systems and methods for sequential mixing of activator in bioadhesive delivery device

A tissue closure system includes a sheath and a tissue closure device. The sheath includes a tensioner assembly. The tissue closure device is insertable through and connected to the sheath, and includes an expandable member positionable distal of a distal end of the sheath. Operating the tensioner assembly applies a biasing force to the tissue closure device that withdraws the expandable member.

Sheath and balloon tensioner and locator systems and methods

A bioadhesive mixing assembly includes first and second syringes and an adapter. The first syringe includes first and second chambers holding a first sealant component and an activator, respectively. The second syringe includes third and fourth chambers holding a second sealant component and one of an activator or a third sealant component, respectively. The adapter is mounted to the first syringe and includes first and second channels in flow communication with the first and second chambers, a first seal member providing sealed access to the first and second channels, first and second needles connected in flow communication with the third and fourth chambers, and a second seal member enclosing the first and second needles. Connecting the adapter to the second syringe punctures the first and second seal members with the first and second syringes to create flow communication between the first and third chambers and the second and fourth chambers.

Bioadhesive mixing and preparation systems and methods using two syringes

A vessel puncture closure device includes a balloon catheter and a sealant delivery device. The balloon catheter has an inflatable balloon positioned at a distal end thereof. The sealant delivery catheter has a sealant lumen configured to delivery a volume of sealant to a vessel puncture. The sealant delivery catheter is configured to move axially relative to the balloon between a first position in which the sealant delivery catheter delivers a first volume of sealant to the vessel puncture, and a second position spaced proximal of the first position to deliver a second volume of sealant to the vessel puncture.

Automatic sealant delivery catheter retraction for vascular closure device and methods

A closure assembly includes an insertion sheath insertable into a tissue puncture and a tissue puncture closure device insertable through the insertion sheath and into the tissue puncture. The tissue puncture closure device includes a dual lumen delivery tube, a first sealing sleeve, and a second sealing sleeve. The dual lumen delivery tube has a first lumen configured to deliver a volume of sealing material to the tissue puncture, and a second lumen sized for insertion of a balloon location device. The first sealing sleeve is positioned between an outer surface of the dual lumen delivery tube and an inner surface of the insertion sheath to limit backflow of the sealing material into the insertion sheath. The second sealing sleeve is positioned between an outer surface of the balloon location device and an inner surface of the second lumen to limit backflow of the sealing material into the second lumen.

Blocking sleeve for bioadhesive delivery device and methods

A vascular closure device includes an inflation balloon and a delivery tube. The delivery tube includes an inflation lumen configured to deliver inflation fluid to the inflation balloon, a sealant lumen configured to deliver a sealant to a vessel puncture, and a delivery tip in flow communication with the sealant lumen and having a plurality of outlet openings.

Delivery tip for extravascular bioadhesive catheter and methods

A procedural sheath holding device includes a base member and a securing member. The base member is positionable in contact with an outer skin surface adjacent to an incision. The securing member is attached to the base member and includes a securing portion operable to releasably secure a procedural sheath in a fixed axial position relative to the skin surface when a vascular closure device is inserted through the procedural sheath to seal the incision. The securing member may be pivotal relative to the base member.

A bioadhesive sealant storage and preparation system may comprise a plurality of containers and an adapter. The plurality of containers may comprise a first container having a first bioadhesive sealant component therein, and a second container having a second bioadhesive sealant component therein. The adapter may comprise a manifold comprising a plurality of channels formed therein, an inlet region sized and configured to receive the plurality of containers and facilitate fluid communication between each container of the plurality of containers and a respective channel of the plurality of channels, and an outlet region sized and configured to receive a syringe and provide fluid communication between the syringe and the plurality of channels.

Sealant storage, preparation, and delivery systems and related methods

A vascular closure system includes a balloon location device, a bioadhesive delivery device, and a sealing tip. The balloon location device includes a balloon for temporarily sealing a vessel puncture internally and at least one lumen for delivering inflation fluid to the balloon. The bioadhesive delivery device includes at least one lumen for delivery of the balloon location device to the vessel puncture. One of the balloon location device and the bioadhesive delivery device includes a first lumen for delivery of a first volume of bioadhesive to the vessel puncture. The sealing tip is releasable within a channel formed in the first volume of bioadhesive upon withdrawal of the balloon. One of the balloon location device and the bioadhesive delivery device is configured for delivery of a second volume of bioadhesive to the vessel puncture after the sealing tip is released in the channel.

Bioadhesive delivery systems and methods for vascular closure

A vascular closure system includes a body portion, an anchor, a suture carrying portion, and a plurality of needles. The body portion has a distal end surface. The anchor is positionable through a vessel puncture in a vessel wall of a vessel. The anchor defines a vessel contact surface, wherein withdrawal of the anchor captures a portion of the vessel wall between the vessel contact surface and the distal end surface. The suture carrying portion is positionable through the vessel puncture and carries at least one suture member. The plurality of needles extend through the portion of the vessel wall adjacent to the vessel puncture and are configured to connect to the at least one suture member. Withdrawal of the plurality of needles through the portion of the vessel wall positions the at least one suture member through the portion of the vessel wall.

Large bore closure device and methods

A tissue puncture closure device includes a delivery member, a handle assembly, and a sealant cartridge. The delivery member includes a sealant lumen and is insertable into a tissue puncture. The handle assembly is mounted to a proximal end of the delivery member and includes a cartridge chamber and a plunger member. The sealant cartridge is insertable into the cartridge chamber. The sealant cartridge has at least first and second sealant chambers carrying at least first and second sealant components, respectively. Operation of the handle assembly ejects the first and second sealant components into the sealant lumen for delivery to the tissue puncture.

Bioadhesive mixing and delivery device and methods

A vascular closure assembly includes a suture placement device and a sealant delivery device. The suture placement device is operable to position at least one suture across the puncture to form a primary seal of the puncture. The sealant delivery device includes a sealant delivery tube having a first lumen sized to receive the at least one suture, and a second lumen configured to deliver a volume of sealant to the puncture after forming the primary seal to create a secondary seal of the puncture. The sealant delivery device is slidable along the at least one suture to the puncture.
