A method of operating a mobile station in a packet transfer mode includes receiving a distribution timing advance message on a control channel from a base station. The distribution timing advance message contains a plurality of mobile station identifiers and associated timing advance values. One of the mobile station identifiers is identified as corresponding to the mobile station. The timing advance value associated with the identified one of the mobile station identifiers is determined. The timing of an uplink transmission to the base station is then adjusted responsive to the timing advance value. Related mobile stations, methods of operating a base station subsystem to communicate timing advance values to a plurality of mobile stations, base station subsystems, and methods of operating a serving GPRS support node to control communication of timing advance values by a base station subsystem are also disclosed.

Multireceiver timing advance provisioning

Method, arrangement and computer program product in a base station for transmitting two USF values and two data blocks to a terminal. The base station and the terminal are comprised within a wireless communication network. The two USF values are to be sent across the first data block and the second data block. The first data block and first parts of the two USF values are modulated with a first modulation technique and the second data block and second parts of the two USF values are modulated with a second modulation technique. The modulated data blocks and USF parts are transmitted to the terminal. Method and arrangement in a wireless communication network

Embodiments herein include methods and arrangements for controlling access of mobile devices to a network, such as GSM. The mobile devices belong to an access control class (ACC) and also belong to an additional access control class (EACC) that provides extended access control. The arrangement broadcasts system information to the mobile devices that comprises a first indicator indicating an ACC. The first indicator indicates whether a mobile device is allowed to access or is barred from accessing the network. The system information further comprises a second indicator indicating an EACC. The second indicator indicates whether a mobile device is allowed to access or is limited from accessing the network. Limited access may entail blocking a mobile device from initiating communications with the network, blocking the mobile device from receiving network initiated communications, or both. A mobile device blocked from network initiated communication may not answer a page from the network.

Method and arrangement in a telecommunication system

A mobile station (MS) operating within a radio network includes a processing unit having an active mode and an inactive mode. The mobile station includes a transmitter in communication with the processing unit. The mobile station includes a memory in communication with the processing unit for storing uplink payload. The invention relates to a method for transmitting call data in a digital wireless communication network, said call data being transmitted over at least one radio frequency channel in a sequence of timeslots.
