Drum with improved emptying feature

The invention relates to a conical lidded drum made of thermoplastic. To avoid step-like changes in diameter or hollow borders as a stacking rim on the outer drum body, according to the invention, a second upset surface flange (12) is formed out in the region of the upper third of the drum (34) on the outer wall of the drum body (10). Advantageously, the conical drum wall (14) extends linearly in a straight line from the upper first surface flange (20) down to the vicinity of the drum base (18) over the entire periphery and in drum longitudinal direction. A third upset surface flange may be provided as a bottom rolling ring (38) in the transition region from drum wall to drum base.

Large-capacity lidded drum

The invention concerns a large-capacity stackable drum with a substantially cylindrical sidewall and top and bottom ends. To improve the stackability in particular the long-term stackability an internal hydrostatic pressure which supports the side wall is initially produced, when stacking several drums one on top of the other, in the gas space above the content and in the contents, of the drums stacked underneath, by virtue of the elastic flexibility of the top and/or the bottom of the drum, until a reduced stacking load acting through the top rim or grip ring of the drum into the drumwall is produced or support provided through the bottom rim or grip ring.

Stackable drum

A widemouthed, open topped steel drum of conical shape, having a large filling and emptying opening capable of being closed, in liquid-tight condition, by means of a lid and a tension ring. The sidewall of the drum has an encircling bead which, upon nesting of two empty drums, rests on the top edge of the drum beneath. The bottom of the drum has at least one closeable bunghole through which the upper drum can be engaged to remove it from the lower drum of a stacked pair.

Widemouth steel drum of conical shape

The invention relates to a bunged vessel of thermoplastic synthetic material having bungs arranged in the head end area. At least one of the bungs is arranged laterally outwardly of the center of the head end with the interior wall surface thereof generally flush with the interior wall surface of the cylindrical part of the shell of the vessel.
