An improvement in a machine for longitudinally separating portions of a continuous web of paper has a triangularly shaped breaking element engaging the under side of the web with spaced apart breaking triangles for ripping the paper along perforation lines and accommodating intermittant longitudinal web displacement.

Burster

A burster for separating successive sheets of paper from a continuous web of paper has at least one output or draw roller having a larger diameter than the input or feed rollers with all of these rollers rotated at the same r.p.m. and a simple belt drive mounted on a pivotal double link with a one-to-one ratio provides for driving one set of rollers from the other set with an adjustable distance between sets of rollers.

Low noise burster

A device for separating a sheet of computer or printout paper from other such papers and carbon papers in a sheet of multiple levels as are commonly employed in computer printouts is designed for table top use with only a short 'fall' of discharged paper sheets and a particularly designed folder for insuring proper folding of discharged sheets to thus provide a tabletop separator.

Separator

A separating device is provided for multiple layer business forms which consist of long, super-imposed webs with perforations thereon which enable one set of forms to be retrieved as individual sheets while another set of forms is separated as a continuous, zig-zag web. The margin perforations may be removed from one or both sheets.

A simplified burster mechanism for perforated forms is provided wherein the burster can be adjusted to separate forms of different sizes in a simplified manner.

A chopper for severed margins of multi-folded paper is provided wherein the margins are slit off the sheet and then chopped into small pieces which occupy a minimum amount of space and which present a simplified disposal problem.
