A stoma cover includes a hood and an adjustment band. The hood extends between a proximal end and a closed distal end. The adjustment band is connected to the proximal end. The adjustment band allows the hood to adjust between a first open size at the proximal end that is sized for placement over the stoma and a second size that is smaller than the first open size. The second size is adapted to secure the hood relative to a root portion of the stoma. A moisture absorbing material is disposed inside of the hood, where the moisture absorbing material is provided to absorb stomal output exuding from a meatus of the stoma.

A system including a stoma cover and an applicator for applying a stoma cover for temporarily covering a stoma during exchange of an ostomy appliance. The stoma cover has a hood-like element with a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, wherein the proximal end portion of the hood-like element is configured to be adjustable to provide for a stoma entrance of the stoma cover to be of variable size, which can be manipulated using the applicator. The present invention provides an assembly for urinary drainage. The assembly comprises a urinary drainage device for collecting urine from a body opening and a collecting bag for collecting the urine. The collecting bag comprises a compartment between sheets of a foil material and an inlet into the compartment, which inlet is connected to the device such that a urinary flow can be established in a flow path from the device through the inlet and into the compartment. The collecting bag further comprises a flow promoting element arranged between the sheets and having flow promoting properties. The collecting may also comprise suction means for providing suction through a flow path in the collecting bag.

A packaged incontinence treatment device includes a catheter enclosed in a package having a closure jaw. The package has a lower portion coupled to an upper portion by a hinge plate that forms a rear wall of the package. The hinge plate allows the upper portion to pivot away from the lower portion to open the package. The closure jaw includes a first wall that is attached to the lower portion by a hinge line and an overlap wall that is attached to the first wall by a front wall. The overlap wall is releasably secured to the upper portion of the package.

A packaged incontinence treatment device includes a catheter and a package. The catheter has a distal tubular portion that is connected to a sheath with a portion of the sheath rolled to provide a proximal collar. The package encloses the catheter and includes a lower portion coupled to an upper portion by a hinge plate. The hinge plate is adapted to allow the upper portion to pivot away from the lower portion to provide an opened package configuration and to allow the upper portion to pivot toward the lower portion to provide a closed package configuration. The package has a retainer protrusion extending from an interior surface of the package that is engaged with the proximal collar of the catheter and retains the proximal collar in the lower portion of the package.

The invention provides a packaging for a medical article e.g. for a urinary catheter. The medical article is stored in a compartment and can be accessed by detaching a first element from a second element thereby forming an opening into the compartment. The first element comprises a suction cup or another fastening element by which the packaging is attachable to a surface. Due to the structure of the packaging, it can be supported in an orientation in which the opening is remote from the surface, and risk of contamination of the medical article can therefore be reduced during removal of the article from the packaging.
