A container handling machine for handling containers, such as bottles for example, including a machine protection element which shields active parts of the container handling machine against interventions from the outside, for example by operating personnel, at least during operation and which extends at least partly over a part of the periphery of the container handling machine. A display is integrated into the machine protection element, wherein information, for example on the operating state of the container handling machine, can be displayed on the display.

A change part, which is used for a machine employed in the filling or bottle manufacturing industry and which includes an identification element, where the identification element comprises a piezoelectric transmitter, which, when the change part is mounted and/or demounted, is able to be activated by the forces acting thereon and to transmit an identification signal, and to a suitable method for identifying a change part mounted in a machine.

A method for assembling a handling unit of filled containers and a corresponding method, where the handling unit comprises different container types being different with respect to at least the height, base area, base area shape or the mechanical load capacity of the containers, and the supplied containers are arranged on a handling unit carrier. The arrangement of the containers with respect to the number and/or the position and/or the rotational position of the containers on the handling unit carrier is made in dependence on at least one of the above container parameters, and the handling units can be produced flexibly and with a high packing density.
