A tool and a method for processing plate-shaped workpieces, in particular metal sheets. An upper tool and a lower tool are movable toward one another for processing a workpiece arranged in between. The upper tool has a clamping shank and a main body arranged on a common position axis. A processing tool is arranged on a main body so as to be situated opposite the clamping shank. The lower tool has a main body with a bearing surface for the workpiece and an opening within the bearing surface. The processing tool of the upper tool has at least one bending edge and at least one cutting edge, and the main body of the lower tool has at least one counterpart bending edge and at least one counterpart cutting edge.

Tool and method for processing plate-shaped workpieces

A tool and method for processing plate-shaped workpieces, such as metal sheets. An upper tool and a lower tool are moved toward one another with a workpiece arranged in between. The upper tool carries a processing tool on a main body opposite a clamping shank. The lower tool has a main body and bearing surface for the workpiece with an opening in the bearing surface. The processing tool of the upper tool has a bending edge and the main body of the lower tool has a counterpart bending edge which is positioned in the opening of the bearing surface. The bearing surface being displaceable relative to the counterpart bending edge such that the counterpart bending edge projects from the opening in the bearing surface.

Tool and method for processing plate-shaped workpieces, in particular metal sheets

A planar workpiece machining device has an upper tool and a lower tool that are movable toward each other in a reciprocation direction and in the opposite direction to machine a workpiece arranged therebetween. The upper tool has a clamping shaft, an upper main body, and a tool body arranged opposite the clamping shaft on the main body and having an upper bending edge. The lower tool has a lower main body, on which a counter tool body having a lower bending edge and a counter holder are provided. The lower bending edge is oriented facing the counter holder. The upper bending edge is stationary to the upper main body, and the lower bending edge is stationary to the lower main body. The upper bending edge is associated with an undercut on the tool body and the lower bending edge is associated with an undercut on the counter tool body.

Machining planar workpieces

A machine tool for machining planar workpieces includes an upper tool, a lower tool, a machine frame, and a controller. The upper tool is movable with a stroke movement along a stroke axis by a stroke drive device in a direction towards a workpiece and in the opposite direction and positionable with an upper traversing movement along an upper positioning axis by a motor drive assembly. The lower tool is aligned with the upper tool and is positionable with a lower traversing movement along a lower positioning axis by a motor drive assembly. The upper and lower tools are movable in a frame interior of the machine frame. The motor drive assemblies can be controlled by the controller. The upper and lower traversing movements can be controllable independently of each other. The upper tool can be controlled with the upper traversing movement and the stroke movement in a superposed manner.

Processing planar workpieces

A tool includes an upper tool having a clamping shaft and an upper main body that lie on a common positioning axis, a processing tool opposite the clamping shaft that has at least one processing edge that extends at least partially along a holding-down surface of the main upper body, a lower tool having a lower main body with a rest surface for the workpiece and a lower positioning axis oriented perpendicular to the rest surface, a counter tool body on the lower main body, the counter tool body having a counter roller with at least one counter edge opposite the at least one processing edge of the processing tool, and a processing device adjacent to the at least one counter edge that has at least one curved counter surface oriented in the longitudinal direction of the processing edge of the processing tool.

Tools, machines, and methods for processing planar workpieces

Tools for machining planar workpieces are provided that include an upper tool, an upper main body, and at least one tool body on the upper main body having a cutting edge. The tools further include a lower tool having a lower main body with a rest surface for the workpiece and a positioning axis oriented perpendicular to the rest surface, at least one counter tool body on the lower main body that has a counter cutting edge that is a closed contour. The cutting edge of the at least one tool body has a cutting contour that corresponds to the closed contour of the at least one counter tool body, and at least one group of at least two counter tool bodies on the lower tool can be associated with the closed contour of the least one tool body.

Tools, machines, and methods for machining planar workpieces

A method for multiple-stroke slotting of planar workpieces includes positioning a workpiece relative to a slotting tool having a punch and a die, moving the punch and the die relative to one another, moving the slotting tool and the workpiece relative to one another, slotting a workpiece by a slot length during a sectioning slot stroke and at least one subsequent slotting stroke in a sectioning phase, and performing strokes in form of slotting strokes and at least one trimming stroke during the relative movement of the punch and the die in a working phase. The subsequent slotting stroke is performed prior to the trimming stroke, and the slot length exceeds a maximum attainable slot length during the trimming stroke. The workpiece and the slotting tool are moved relative to one another by at least one feed movement between the strokes.

Multiple stroke slotting of planar workpieces

A machine for machining, such as cutting and/or forming, planar workpieces has an upper tool and a lower tool that are movable toward each other to machine a workpiece arranged therebetween. The upper tool includes at least one cutting tool having at least one cutting edge and a clamping shaft. The lower tool includes a main body having a support surface for the workpiece. The support surface has an opening associated with an inner counter cutting edge. The lower tool has a positioning axis and at least one outer counter cutting edge provided outside of the opening and associated with the support surface. The outer counter cutting edge is aligned with an outer face of the support surface. A distance of the outer counter cutting edge from the position axis and a distance of the inner counter cutting edge from the position axis deviate from each other.

A tool for machining a planar workpiece, comprising an upper tool having a clamping shaft and an upper main body that lie on a common positioning axis, a tool body arranged opposite to the clamping shaft on the upper main body, the tool body comprising a bending edge, and a lower tool having a lower main body that receives a rotational body that is rotatable around an axis of rotation running in a direction of the bending edge of the tool body, wherein the upper tool and the lower tool are movable towards and away from each other in a stroke direction for machining the workpiece arranged therebetween, and wherein the upper main body defines a projection surface that is perpendicular to the positioning axis and the bending edge of the tool body is adjacent tangentially to the projection surface or is outside the projection surface.

A method for the production of workpieces includes positioning and holding a first plate-shaped material with a gripping device in a working region of a processing station so that the first plate-shaped material is moveable relative to a workpiece support, positioning and holding a second plate-shaped material with an additional gripping device in the working region of the processing station so that the second plate-shaped material is moveable relative to the workpiece support, producing a first workpiece part from the first plate-shaped material, positioning the first workpiece part with respect to the second plate-shaped material, connecting the first workpiece part to the second plate-shaped material or to a second workpiece part produced from the second plate-shaped material, wherein the second workpiece part is at least partially processed, and finishing the at least the second workpiece part that is connected to the first workpiece part in the processing station.

Methods for the production of workpieces

In the context of a method for the separating machining of plate-like work-pieces from an elastically deformable material, in particular for the separating machining of sheet metal, two workpiece parts are separated from one another, in that the two workpiece parts are initially partially separated from one another, so as to produce at least one connecting web connecting the two workpiece parts to one another, and in that the two workpiece parts are then separated from one another completely by re-moving the connection created by the connecting web. The at least one connecting web is created as a flexure bearing in this case that connects the two workpiece parts to one another in such a manner that the two workpiece parts are movable relative to one another with elastic deformation of the connecting web against the action of a restoring force.

Method of machining plate-like workpieces

Tools and methods for the handling of workpieces in a processing machine are provided herein. The tools have a tool body, having a clamping pin that is fixedly arranged on the tool body and having an indexing wheel that is arranged between the clamping pin and the tool body. At least one suction element is provided, to which a fluid channel leads, and the at least one suction element can be transferred by the indexing wheel or the tool body into an active position, in which the fluid channel is closed and, due to lengthening of the at least one suction element, the at least one suction element is attached by suction to the workpiece, and the at least one suction element can be transferred by the indexing wheel or the tool body into a rest position, in which the fluid channel is open.

Tools and methods for handling workpieces

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for producing a foil slitting cut in a foil of a foiled metal sheet. A foil slitting tool is moved along a predetermined path with a tool tip resting on the metal sheet and thereby mechanically produces the foil slitting cut by displacing foil material along the path. The foil slitting cut has at least one acute-angled tooth for forming at least one foil corner detached from the metal sheet.

Producing a removal aid in a foil of a foiled metal sheet

A forming tool for pressure forming a connecting web between incompletely separated workpiece parts of a plate-like workpiece from a cutting operation, in particular a metal sheet, comprises two tool parts, of which each is provided with a forming unit. The tool parts are able to move towards each other along a stroke axis with a processing stroke to a stroke end position. Each of the forming units has a forming surface on a web side facing away from the respective workpiece part, wherein the said forming surface, starting from a front face of the forming unit extends along the stroke axis away from a workpiece side facing the respective workpiece part.

Devices and methods for pressure forming connecting webs between workpiece parts of a plate-like workpiece

A machining tool, such as a forming, embossing, punching or pinching tool carries at least two tool elements at radial external faces for processing sheet metal. The tool elements are fixed to a tool body, either as separate pieces or integrated therein, and the tool body is rotatably supported in a receptacle. The tool body is rotatable about a rotation axis which is not perpendicular to the sheet metal during processing.
