A magnetic roller for being rotatable on a ferromagnetic surface is provided. The magnetic roller includes a roller wheel having an inner space, a magnetic array arrangement and at least one first drive mechanism. Further, the magnetic array arrangement is adapted to be swivelably disposed within the inner space of the roller wheel. The magnetic array arrangement includes a strong adhesion force side and a weak adhesion force side. Furthermore, the first drive mechanism is configured to swivelably drive the magnetic array arrangement. The first drive mechanism swivelably drive the magnetic array arrangement to direct the strong adhesion force side towards the oncoming ferromagnetic surface, and, to direct the weak adhesion force side towards the foregoing ferromagnetic surface to enable the roller wheel to move forward on the ferromagnetic surface.

Magnetic roller

A magnetic adhesive force monitoring system, magnetic wheeled robot and related method are disclosed. The system includes a magnetic field sensor measuring a stray field portion of a total magnetic field emitted by a magnetic wheel that is magnetically adhered to a ferromagnetic structure, the stray field portion including a portion of the total magnetic field redirected by the ferromagnetic structure. A controller determines a change in a magnetic adhesion force of the magnetic wheel to the ferromagnetic structure based on a change in the measured stray field portion of the total magnetic field. Embodiments also provide for determination of a contact point of the wheel with a ferromagnetic structure.

A scanning device () is useful for scanning a body, especially a stud (), from a bore () which extends through the body or stud () and is accessible from the outside. The scanning device () includes a probe () which is fastened on a cylindrical rod () and can be inserted into the bore () for scanning the body or stud (), which probe, by displacing the rod () in its longitudinal direction is longitudinally displaceable in the bore (), and by rotating the rod () around its cylinder axis () is rotatable around the bore axis. A compact and light construction, and flexible applicability, are achieved by a compact, controllable drive unit (), through which the rod () extends and which longitudinally displaces and/or rotates the rod () depending upon selection, for displacing and rotating the rod ().

Stud scanner

A robot platform is provided, which is intended in particular for remotely controlled and/or autonomous inspection of technical facilities, in particular in power stations, and comprises at least a drive mechanism configured to move the robot platform, an inspection device configured to inspect the technical facility and a communication device for exchanging measurement and/or control data. Particular flexibility in use and extended areas of use are achieved in that the robot platform is modular and the communication device operates in accordance with a uniform standard.

An apparatus for advancing articles in a selected, approximately horizontal conveying direction, includes a plurality of side-by-side disposed table elements each having an upper, approximately horizontal article-supporting surface. The article-supporting surfaces together form an approximately horizontal conveying table. A first drive oscillates each table element parallel to its article-supporting surface in a motion having two motion components oriented in perpendicular, horizontal directions and a second drive vertically oscillates each table element. A first synchronizing arrangement synchronizes the horizontal oscillations in the direction of the two motion components and a second synchronizing arrangement synchronizes the vertical oscillations with the horizontal oscillations. A first adjusting arrangement adjusts the phase of the vertical oscillations with respect to the horizontal oscillations and a second adjusting arrangement individually adjusts an amplitude of the vertical oscillation of each table element.
