A device for temperature-controlling a vehicle battery in an electric or hybrid vehicle may include a coolant circuit, a refrigerant circuit, and a first valve device. The vehicle battery, a coolant cooler, a coolant pump, and a chiller may be arranged in the coolant circuit. The chiller, a compressor, a condenser, and an evaporator may be arranged in the refrigerant circuit. The first valve device may be arranged indirectly on the chiller. A coolant flow may be dividable between the chiller and the coolant cooler via the first valve device.

Device for cooling a battery

A heat exchanger, in particular a chiller, includes a heat exchanger block with a first fluid duct for a refrigerant and a second fluid duct for a coolant, an inlet and an outlet for the refrigerant, which are formed at a connecting flange and which are fluidically connected to the first fluid duct, a sensor for detecting a measured variable of the refrigerant, and an electronic expansion valve arranged in the inlet including an integrated regulating unit, wherein the expansion valve regulates a flow rate of the refrigerant in the inlet as a function of the detected measured variable. The sensor and the regulating unit are connected via a cable to transfer data. A port is formed at the expansion valve. The cable is further secured releasably or non-releasably in the respective port at the expansion valve. In addition, a method for controlling or regulating the heat exchanger is provided.

Heat exchanger and method for controlling or regulating the heat exchanger

A heat exchanger or chiller may include a heat exchanger block having a first fluid channel for a coolant and a second fluid channel for a refrigerant, an expansion valve for controlling a mass flow rate of the refrigerant, and a connection flange having an inlet channel and an outlet channel for the refrigerant. The expansion valve may be designed as an electronic expansion valve. The inlet channel may be connected to the second fluid channel in a transition region of the inlet channel. The connection flange may have an insertion opening, which may communicate with the transition region of the inlet channel, and into which the expansion valve may be inserted such that the expansion valve may control the mass flow rate of the refrigerant in the transition region and evaporation of the refrigerant may first occur in the second fluid channel.

Heat exchanger or chiller

A stacked plate heat exchanger may include a plurality of stacked plates stacked on top of one another, between which a plurality of hollow spaces for two media may be alternately defined. The plurality of stacked plates may include at least two first stacked plates and at least one second stacked plate. The plurality of stacked plates may respectively include at least one first passage opening surrounded by a dome and at least one second passage opening. The at least one second passage opening of the at least one second stacked plate may be surrounded by an annular bead. The at least one second stacked plate may be arranged between the at least two first stacked plates such that the dome of a lower first stacked plate, the dome of an upper first stacked plate, and the annular bead are connected to one another and define an immersion tube.

Stacked plate heat exchanger

A heat transfer device for a motor vehicle may include a pump and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may have a first inlet and a first outlet for a refrigerant, and a second inlet and a second outlet for a coolant. The pump and the heat exchanger may be mounted to each other forming a common assembly.

Heat transfer device

In an evaporator having plate-type construction, a plurality of stack plates are stacked atop one another such that a first fluid passage for a first fluid as a refrigerant and a second fluid passage for a second fluid as a coolant is provided and are formed between the stack plates. The stack plates have first apertures for supply and return of the first fluid, second apertures for supply and return of the second fluid, a first inlet opening and outlet opening for entry and exit of the first fluid, a second inlet opening and outlet opening for entry and exit of the second fluid, and an expansion valve for the first fluid that is built onto or integrated into the rest of the heat exchanger. The evaporator incorporates a shutoff unit for the first fluid that is built onto or integrated into the rest of the heat exchanger.

Heat exchanger

Disclosed herein is a plate-type heat exchanger or chiller, with multiple stacking plates stacked one on top of the other such that a first fluid duct for a first fluid and a second fluid duct for a second fluid are formed between the stacking plates. A first inlet and outlet opening for conducting in and discharging the first fluid, and a second inlet and outlet opening for conducting in and discharging the second fluid is provided. The first inlet or outlet opening is formed by an immersion pipe and the first fluid can be conducted into the first fluid duct through the immersion pipe, such that the first inlet and outlet openings are formed on the same side of the heat exchanger.
