A process for purifying water, which comprises passing water contaminated with organic compounds in countercurrent through a moving bed adsorber packed with an adsorbent medium that is colonized, especially in the lower zone, with one or more microorganisms.

Water purification process

A process for purifying water, which comprises passing water contaminated with halogenated compounds through one or more fixed or fluidized bed reactors which are connected in series and packed with an adsorbent material which is inoculated with one or more microorganisms. The process results in almost complete elimination of the halogenated hydrocarbons.

There is disclosed a process for purifying ground- and wastewaters, which comprises subjecting said waters to a membrane separation process between a biological treatment step and adsorption on activated carbon.

Ground- and wastewater purification

A process for purifying water, wherein the water, which is polluted by a mixture of halogenated compounds, preferably halogenated hydrocarbons, is passed through at least two reactors (treatment stages) packed with a porous material populated by one or more microorganisms, one of the reactors being operated under anaerobic conditions and being followed by an aerobically operated reactor; in this way, almost complete elimination of the halogenated compounds, preferably halogenated hydrocarbons, is achieved.
